Gustavo Gordillo has figured out how not to run out of other people’s money. Have the DSA pay HIM!
Nina covered yesterday how Gordillo, who is the co-chair of the New York City DSA organization, lives in a Brooklyn row house with his brother, which was bought and paid for by Mom and Dad. In fact, the parents have been footing poor little Gustavo’s housing bills for quite some time.
The Ivy League radical’s converted single-family home was bought in 2019 by his mommy and daddy through a dummy corporation, Chucuito LLC, for just under $1 million, property records show.
Since then, it has undergone a major facelift, with renovations done to its entire front facade, the planting of lush landscaping, the revamping of the interior and the addition a pair of decks on the roof as well as near the front door, according to plans filed with the borough in 2023.
Gordillo’s father confirmed to The Post that the lefty and his brother live in the revamped Brooklyn spot — after admitting that the dad had rented a place for the DSA leader on the Lower East Side for $2,600 a month through the same LLC between 2016 and 2019.
Gordillo worked at an art gallery during those years before becoming an electrician, according to City and State.
Yes, this is the same guy who decried rich landlords, and yet his parents are footing his housing bills because THEY are his rich landlords. Though he would likely argue that this is different, because he’s not paying his parents rent, or something.
But hold on a minute. Gordillo has talked up his union membership, his work as an electrician, and has been using it as a large part of his personal story – and his X name.
Gordillo has often touted himself as a blue-collar union electrician, with his X handle @UnionGordillo.
But since 2024, he has stopped referring to himself as an IBEW Local 3 member and instead identified as just some form of a union worker.
Reports show he joined the IBEW sometime over the last few years, but there are no records indicating he made it through the seven-year journeymen process.
He told the New York Times earlier this year he was no longer an electrician.
Yeah, about that – he has not kept up on his union dues, never even FINISHED his electrician apprenticeship because he didn’t SHOW UP, and yet is still touting his “working man” credentials to the DSA.
Didn't even pay his apprentice union fees. An entire political group of unemployable, deadbeat rich kids. https://t.co/PXwDTdwFyM

Not only did he push this “working union laborer” narrative on the DSA, he apparently convinced the DSA to PAY HIM a substantial salary, plus benefits, for what he was doing for the party! Conveniently, he neglected to mention that he never became an electrician, and instead argued that the work he was doing for the DSA was soooooo important that he needed them to pay him for all the media hits and “work” he was doing.
Former Yale University liberal arts student Gustavo Gordillo, 38, was fired from his apprenticeship program in March after ghosting his employer for months, meaning he never made it as a fully-credentialed electrician, the IBEW Local 3 union confirmed Wednesday.
“After learning of Mr. Gordillo’s prolonged absence from and failure to participate in required work and classes, the trustees of the Joint Apprentice Training Committee terminated Mr. Gordillo from the program,” the IBEW said in a statement.
A source close to the union said “he didn’t have a strong work record to begin with” and took the job “just for show,” while hogging “a slot from someone who probably really needed the opportunity.”
But Gordillo failed to mention that he’d gotten canned when sources said he made an emotional appeal to Democratic Socialists of America rank-and-file for full-time pay and benefits last month.
“Both of them [Gordillo and his co-chair Grace Mausser] went into detail on their day jobs on how since [Mayor] Zohran [Mamdani] won they were getting so much national attention,” one attendee of the July Queens DSA meeting recalled.
He even regalled the audience with stories about the struggles of him having to do media interviews, using an ear piece on construction job sites, telling the crowd it was too “distracting,” the source said.
The measure to pay Gordillo and Mausser each $95,000 a year with benefits ended up passing.
The socialist became a member of the Local 3 union in April 2024, but stopped showing up to work around the time fellow DSA-member Mayor Zohran Mamdani was elected in November 2025, according to the union.
His social media profile on X — where his handle is @unionGustavo — still described him as a “@nycdsa co-chair, union electrician” as of Wednesday.
The resolution states that the co-chairs will have to raise 15% of their salary. They will be responsible for pushing the NYC-DSA agenda and presenting it to the city and state government and promote the group’s endorsed slate of political candidates.
Gustavo Gordillo is 38 years old, still has his parents providing his housing, never got his Yale degree in either *checks notes* literature or sculpture, became a union member for the street cred, got an apprenticeship, then never showed up to do the actual work and was fired, and is now living off the dues of DSA members. He will need to raise $14,250 in order to meet the resolution’s requirements, but what happens if he doesn’t? Will he still get paid the other $80,750 if he doesn’t do the fundraising? And BENEFITS? Like Zohran Mamdani and Cea Weaver, these are spoiled rich kids who haven’t done a damn thing in their lives, and one day all of their parents’ money is going to be gone. So they had better be in charge to make sure Big Daddy Government is there to keep them in the lifestyle to which they are accustomed! But that means being at the TOP of the socialism pyramid, not the bottom – and convincing the suckers paying their dues to let them live off you “for the good of the party” like a leech.
Gordillo’s co-chair, Grace Mausser, was lauded for all her “unpaid” work back in January while working her unspecified “day job,” but now has the same salary deal that Gordillo does. You have to hand it to them – they’ve learned how to make socialism into a capitalist venture for themselves!
One has to wonder exactly how the “rank and file” DSA members feel about man-child Gustavo’s cushy house accommodations, and the fact that they are using their dues to pay a liar who was cosplaying as a union electrician. I wonder how the next DSA meeting in New York City is going to go.

The next DSA meeting in New York City is going to go swimmingly. Both Grace Mausser and Gustavo Gordillo are success stories.
