Democrat Leaders Want GOP Apology To Rashida Tlaib

It’s official. Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer, the House Democrat leaders, have decided to embrace the anti-Semitism in their party with zero reservations.

How do we know this? Pelosi and Hoyer are deeply offended by… the Republicans who are criticizing Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib – which now includes President Trump.

They’re not offended by her willfull misrepresentation of history, they’re upset about how THE REPUBLICANS ARE SO MEEEEEEEAAAAAAN. And they have the gall to want the GOP to apologize to Tlaib.

No, I’m not kidding.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) is asking for an apology from the Republicans hammering Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) over her recent comments on Israel and the Holocaust.”

Hoyer said the Republicans, including President Trump, are twisting Tlaib’s words in criticizing them as anti-Semitic.”

“If you read Rep. Tlaib’s comments, it is clear that President Trump and Congressional Republicans are taking them out of context,” Hoyer said in a brief email. “They must stop, and they owe her an apology.”

As one Twitter user pointed out, the Corbynization of the Democrat Party is pretty complete.

Pro tip to the Democrat leadership: even CNN is staring at Rashida Tlaib and saying “wow, that was bad.”

When CNN is acting more journalistically than, say, the Washington Post, then yeah, maybe we are in the Twilight Zone. And just maybe you totally screwed this up months ago, Speaker Pelosi, when you repeatedly punted on dealing with the ugliness spewing out of the fingers and mouths of your freshman Democrats. Now, you are stuck.

It is undeniable that anti-Semitism is on the rise, and there’s a particularly vicious streak of attacks in New York City. Have you heard about it?

Orthodox Jews in New York City, specifically in Brooklyn, have experienced alarming rates of physical assault over the past year. The New York Police Department says that hate crimes in the city are up 67 percent this year. Of those, a whopping 80 percent have been anti-Semitic hate crimes. Just this week an Orthodox Jew just walking down the street was attacked from behind, punched in the head by an attacker who then ran away. In another incident this week, an Orthodox Jew was attacked by a group of men, one of whom shouted “You (expletive) Jew.”

This is an all too familiar story in Brooklyn these days, and there is a reason it isn’t being treated as a crisis by our media or government. That reason is that many if not most of the assailants are black or Hispanic men. In an article in The New York Times last October that was careful to point out, although without much evidence, that people of all descriptions are committing acts of anti-Semitism, Ginia Bellafante writes (emphasis mine), “In fact, it is the varied backgrounds of people who commit hate crimes in the city that make combating and talking about anti-Semitism in New York much harder.”

We should be clear about what this means. It means that if these assaults were being committed by white men in hoods or MAGA hats, it would not be “hard to talk about.” It would be a clear-cut case of bigotry that needs to be fought with every tool in our arsenal. Instead, journalists are wringing their hands about intersectionality, and careful not to indulge the narrative that these physical attacks are coming from blacks and Hispanics in bordering neighborhoods, even though that narrative is absolutely true.”

Democrat leadership, obsessed with intersectionality and catering to that ideal, have thrown themselves fully into accepting anti-Semitism into the Democrat party. Enjoy lying in the bed you’ve made, Nancy.

Dems are, and always have been racist, they’ve just been very good playing one group of racists against the others, and capitalizing off the discord. They need to be called out on it at every opportunity (and damn do they offer a lot of opportunities)…

    No apology now or ever.
