David Hogg’s Ungracious Refusal Of Laura Ingraham’s Apology [VIDEO]

Like it or not and like him or not, David Hogg has become one of the central figures in the push for gun control since the horrific attack at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He’s said and tweeted a lot of things factual or otherwise since that day. Including the fact, as Marta wrote about here, that he was rejected by colleges he desired to attend.

So, he’s going to take a gap year and focus on gun control and trying to get Democrats to win their mid-term races. That’s fine. But when a Daily Wire story is then retweeted by Laura Ingraham….SUDDENLY his feelz are all hurt! What exactly did she tweet?

Please tell me, what exactly is wrong here? Yes, he did whine about the college rejections. Or at the very least he indulged in some self pity. So Laura mentions it and all hell breaks loose!

David calls for a boycott and specifically names advertisers. Quite a few respond and pull the advertising plug.

So far, six companies have announced they will no longer support the program: Nestle, Wayfair, TripAdvisor, Expedia, Joseph A. Banks and Nutrish, a pet food brand.

“As a company, we support open dialogue and debate on issues,” Wayfair told the Daily Beast. “However, the decision of an adult to personally criticize a high school student who has lost his classmates in an unspeakable tragedy is not consistent with our values. We do not plan to continue advertising on this particular program.”

Could Ingraham have worded her tweet better? Sure.

In fact, she recognized that and issued an apology.

Ben Shapiro is on point here.

Here’s a reminder of how angry and foul David can be.

Ingraham’s apology was gracious. I’m sure she and the producers at Fox recognized that that wouldn’t stop the tsunami of advertising cancellations and it didn’t. However, the fact remains, she DID apologize.

Thus, David graciously accepted her apology and is urging everyone to move forward. Right? WRONG.

The end result is this, in my opinion. Laura Ingraham admitted she was mistaken in what she tweeted. She did so graciously. David Hogg on the other hand, was less than gracious in his outright refusal to accept her apology. Yet at the same time, he has been demanding that he be treated as an adult. So I’d say this is a fair question.

David Hogg had a chance to be the bigger person here and instead he dove headfirst into rudeness and childishness. There are no winners here for sure. But David Hogg put his own personal hypocrisy on public display, thus showing the world that he is still a child in many ways.

David Hogg had a chance to take the high road, and he didn’t. Speaks volumes as to his character doesn’t it?

I will be glad with David Hogg’s 15 minutes of fame are done. His behavior is hastening the end, thank goodness. He doesn’t have the maturity or ethics to lead. He’s just a kid who thinks he is all that but is in way over his head.

  • Adora Grayskull says:

Sorry. David Hogg is clearly smart enough to know when an apology is insincere.

The tweet was entirely in character for Ms. Ingraham. The quick apology to save her @$$….entirely in character for Ms. Ingraham.

    • GWB says:

No, “Camera” Hogg is not smart enough to know anything except how to get in front of the media spotlight. And his a**holery is entirely within his character.

Looking at that first tweet you show, he’s moping like a tween girl binging on Sex and the City. Ugh.

However, the decision of an adult to personally criticize a high school student who has lost his classmates in an unspeakable tragedy is not consistent with our values.
So, you’re basically saying that you agree that children have absolute moral authority and cannot be wrong, regardless of their language, principles, or actions. Let me know how that goes. I’ll be over here cleaning firearms and not spending any money with you.

Could Ingraham have worded her tweet better? Sure.
    I disagree.

It’s time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children.
OK, that removes all my restraints concerning this a**hole. He can just go f*** himself. And, if I see him in person, he’s likely to get punched in his foul, obscene, ignorant mouth. Get out of my face, d***breath, and stop contributing to the greenhouse gas issue.

There are no winners here for sure.
Oh, I disagree. Ingraham will turn out a winner in this. The conservative movement is turning out a winner in this. The firearms industry is turning out a winner in this.

    What a little dick.

Meanwhile, Hogg has also taken on Sen. John McCain for support for the latter coming from NRA members and $ sources. It would really be nice if McCain responded something like this:

“David, my days on this earth are numbered, so I really don’t think I have to account for myself to a little shit like you. I spent a good chunk of my life serving my country and subjected to torture in a North Vietnamese prisoner of war camp. I have served my state of Arizona in the US Senate since 1986 and have been elected to that position six times. I was Republican candidate for President of the US when you were all of seven years old, so I really don’t think you even know what I believe.”
