One would think that an individual being murdered just blocks away would put the protesting, D.C. NIMBYs on notice, but, the disconnect runs deep.

The move by Trump to federalize the D.C> police department is allowed under the Home Rule Act of 1973 but residents of (very wealthy, very white) Northwest D.C. see this move as a fascist measure and a threat to “democracy”.

Noticed they’re not forming on Capitol Hill and moving into south east DC…

Of course, they’re not. It would be a horrible look if one of them were to get knifed whilst waving their homemade rainbow swastika sign.

Whist the D.C. NIMBYs were waving their “Trump Must Go” (certainly he’s done for with a sign like that), a person was murdered just blocks away in a parking garage near Logan Circle.

Just after 11 p.m., officers were called to a parking garage near Yotel Washington DC in the 400 block of New Jersey Avenue, Northwest, for the shooting. When they arrived, officers found a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

Officials said DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and rushed the victim to a local hospital, where, after all lifesaving measures failed, the victim was pronounced dead.”-Ida Domingo, ABC 7 News

The tone-deaf will continue to drown out the noise of shots fired and emergency vehicles. Ninety three percent of them voted for a person who 1) refused to go to the southern border of the U.S. and 2) allowed violent, illegal criminals to jump the fence into this country. The disconnect is real. After all, they were “ready” for this woman:

Clearly, Trump has no idea of what he speaks. Just listen to CNN’s Dana Bash. January 6th was the most violent day in D.C. in most recent history:

And, criminals in D.C. are committing violent crime in the name of who and what now, exactly, Dana? Isn’t this violent crime an assault on every day America and Americans? What about the rights of the assaulted and slain? Where are their rights to walk freely in this country without fear of some scumbag ending their lives needlessly? But, yes, pull January 6th out of the “journalistic” playbook. Northwest D.C. residents have the right to protest this horrific, police state Donald Trump is forcing upon their existence! By their logic, the criminals should just run free-range. Why are they all about the criminals?

Then, there’s ABC News anchor, Kyra Phillips:

I can tell you firsthand here in downtown DC where we work, right here around our bureau, just in the past six months, you know, there were two people shot, one person died, literally two blocks down here from the bureau.

It was within the last two years that I actually was jumped walking just two blocks down from here.

And then, just this morning, one of my co-workers said her car was stolen, a block away from the bureau.

We can talk about the numbers going down, but crime is happening every single day because we’re all experiencing it firsthand, working and living down here,”-Kyra Phillips

I have to hand it to the Dems. They have gaslighted and convinced their minions that “crime is down”. So much so, they are going out into the streets to protest Trump’s “hostile takeover” while someone is murdered blocks away. That is the level of cognitive dissonance we are seeing here. It’s almost as if the NIMBYs want to live in their protective, little bubbles, oblivious to the horrific truth of what is going on around them. Remember Portland in the summer of 2020? Here is a city that never fully recovered from the damage. They may say “crime is down” but drug-addled homelessness is still prevalent on the streets. Violent crime is still a thing in PDX. Cracking down on criminals violates the intersectionality they embrace. Don’t mess with their vibe and harsh their mellow.

In shirt, NIMBYs gonna NIMBY. Donald Trump, in their eyes, will go down as the Evil Orange Man-most authoritarian president ever, even if they, or their kids, should they have them are safer for the crime crackdowns. They will continue ti vote for politicians and policies that promote violence on the streets because they have the means not to actually have to live in it.

And the world keeps spinning.
