Could We Survive The Trump-Biden Rematch?

Word from the Swamp is that Joe Biden is set to announce his official entry into the 2024 Presidential Race on Tuesday from his basement by video. Donald Trump has been running for 2024, honestly, since noon on January 20, 2021. If these men end up as their party’s standard bearers, the question is can we survive it? Could we, as a country, survive the rematch?

The question actually came out of a post for The Spectator by Grace Curley “Doesn’t America Deserve Better Than A Trump-Biden Rematch?”. She wrote:

Why would the American people potentially go for a repeat of 2020?
If Trump and Biden both clinch their party’s nominations, it would be for opposite reasons.
Trump would not be the establishment GOP’s first pick, but it doesn’t matter: the enthusiasm he elicits from the Republican base continues to make him a force to be reckoned with.
Biden on the other hand is very unpopular with voters (check the polls Jack), but that doesn’t matter to the Democrats in power: Biden is an obedient and effective puppet for the left’s agenda and therefore he lives to see another election.

No, Grace, I don’t think so. I really don’t think we do deserve better than a Trump-Biden rematch. We have fixed nothing that made the first match-up happen.

For generations, Democrats have the party of BIG IDEAS, such as “Freedom from Want” and “Freedom from Fear” while those BIG IDEAS suppress the individual’s right to autonomy. All your rights will be funneled through a government program back to you, after the government decides what you need. All the while your children are being chewed up in the wars we are having, but not necessarily declaring. E.G., “Biden Speech: The Ukraine War Will Never End”. The Democrats march lockstep towards socialism (small “s”).

At the very same time, the Republicans have been the party of almost no ideas and almost no plans. Did you see the 15 votes it took Kevin McCarthy to finally grab the Speaker’s gavel? Interesting civics lesson but embarrassing as a Party. Like, they couldn’t have handled this in the locker room or dressing room? Meanwhile, not one government department is defunded, not one government fund is cut, and the war machine keeps pumping out armaments that “We the People” are paying for.

I should mention that I am not opposed to war, I just prefer that if we are going to grind up our children, we at least win. My late father was a Korean War Marine, it does something to a man to lose friends and not at least win. E.G., “Biden Blames Army For HIS Afghanistan Failures”.

And, Grace, that brings me to the third point in why we probably are going to get a Trump-Biden rematch. The “UNIPARTY”. While taxpaying citizens are being stomped and their children are being ground up, or not educated despite bucketsful of money being spent, which is an entirely other problem, the UNIPARTY in the Swamp continue to get rich. All of them. It’s a cozy little grift.

More from Grace’s article:

A huge chunk of the country has soured on our polarized political parties. Now it’s a question of which candidate can win over those middle-of-the-roaders in a contentious tug of war.
Trump-Deranged women with “Hate Has No Home Here” lawn signs and MAGA hat wearers with Tucker Carlson recorded on their DVRs are not the people who will make or break this election.
The people who hated Trump in 2020 somehow hate him even more now. The people who got on the Trump train in 2020 — even people who now might prefer a less bombastic option such as a Ron DeSantis — would still vote for Orange Man in a heartbeat were he to become the Republican nominee.

The Democrat Media Industrial Complex will tell people who to hate, Grace. And, if you think the Democrat Media Industrial Complex really cares whether it’s Trump or DeSantis, you haven’t been paying attention. Biden or Governor “Hair-gel” Newsom. Trump or DeSantis. It doesn’t matter. The Democrat candidate is moderate, loving, and good. He’ll even rock your puppy to sleep. The Republican candidate is stupid, evil and Hitler. If Biden drowns in his pudding tonight because Jill is deciding which sofa fabric to wear, Governor Hair-gel will swap in just fine. Similarly, if Trump finally feels the walls closing in and the Democrats send him to Gitmo without a mobile studio, DeSantis will slot into the spot. DeSantis is already running against Newsom:

Can you imagine the battle over the hairspray backstage at a DeSantis/Newsom debate? The Hill actually had a poll(?) about a Trump/Biden rematch:

Many Americans are not excited about a potential rematch between President Biden and former President Trump, according to a new poll, with more respondents saying they feel “exhaustion” over the prospects than anything else.
A 38 percent plurality of respondents reported they felt “exhaustion” over the idea of a rematch, according to the Yahoo News/YouGov poll. The other emotions that people said the rematch inspires are not much more positive, with 29 percent feeling “fear” and 23 percent “sadness and fear.”

Well, Grace, exhaustion, fear and sadness sound about right. Nobody has done anything to make Americans free since 2020. It’s only gotten worse. If Biden wins the rematch, say goodbye to heating your home AND your gas stove. If Trump wins, welcome back to endless impeachments.

At this point, Grace, we only have one choice and that’s to look on the bright side:

Eh, I am just joking with you, sort of. In a few weeks it will be tomato season. There is not much better in life than a fresh, homegrown, sliced tomato sandwich on white bread with mayo and a touch of salt and pepper. Unless the government outlaws fresh, homegrown veggies, Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

I’m at the point where I’m wondering about the value of my vote. My area has been turning more Democrat for the past 10-15 years or so after being solid Republican at the US House of Reps, state reps and senators, county and local gov’t. It’s all been flipped, and not due to cheating but from changing demographics. Limousine liberals (attorneys, financial types, etc.) have moved into wealthy areas where older conservatives have, well, died. Younger people, educated at the fine institutes of higher brainwashing run by the state, are now in the areas of smaller homes and apartments.

I’d prefer someone other than Trump, not because of who he is but because of what the left will do to all of us. Trump, love him or hate him or somewhere in between, was mostly effective. But even he was naïve enough to have his own “people” screw him over.

DeSantis may be just another Bush-type meaning deep-state stamped and approved.

During the Bush years, how many times, after supporting him, did you sigh and let your shoulders droop because of something he did that essentially gave in to liberal democrats and let them have their way for the sake of non-partisanship. But we were supposed to be the ones who should know better, after all, the government knows best, right?

At this point, I don’t believe it’s reasonable to still fear DeSantis is another GOPe-Bush cabal type. He’s said – and more importantly, done – far, far too much to make himself persona non grata to those guys.

The idea that he’s smashing Disney, banning transgender treatments for minors, et al. and will then, once in the White House, say ‘SURPRISE!!’ isn’t grounded in reality.

    • Washington Nearsider says:

I’ve attempted to reply twice, explaining that I think DeSantis’s actions demonstrate that he’s not Deep State, but VG has twice deleted my response. DeSantis has not only said, but done things that have forever ruined any Bush-type cred he could have.

I’m not sure what I said that provoked the removal of my comment, but I’m hoping this one gets through.

Once again, incorrect … “Donald Trump has been running for 2024, honestly, since noon on January 20, 2021.” The 280 pound malignant tumor has been running since November 4, 2020.

“For generations, Democrats have the party of BIG IDEAS, such as “Freedom from Want” and “Freedom from Fear” while those BIG IDEAS suppress the individual’s right to autonomy.” I bet you couldn’t tell me what republicans stand for in 2023? They haven’t put out a platform, a manifesto, since TFG ran. What republicans stand for … whatever the culture issue of the day is. They don’t give a rats ass about anything else.

I apologize to Toni Williams … she made my point in the next paragraph. “At the very same time, the Republicans have been the party of almost no ideas and almost no plans. Did you see the 15 votes it took Kevin McCarthy to finally grab the Speaker’s gavel? Interesting civics lesson but embarrassing as a Party.” Thank you.

Really? “The Democrat Media Industrial Complex will tell people who to hate, Grace.” Did they tell Americans to hate GLBTQ people? Did they tell Americans to fear migrants? Did they tell Americans to recoil in fear when you hear a knock on your door and if it’s a person any shade other than pasty white, you should be in fear for your life and shoot? Did they tell Americans to fear the FBI? The list goes on and on and on … there’s only one party that propagates fear.

“If Trump wins, welcome back to endless impeachments.” No, welcome to the revolving door of presidential appointees, appointment of hundreds of “acting” bureaucrats who operate outside policies and procedures, welcome to the daily crisis’ tRump steps into (Why did Kanye leave Kim and the myriad of other cultural that were always below the presidency that the 280 pound malignant tumor would raise to the level of a national crisis.) Welcome back to an attorney general who was the presidents private attorney. Welcome back to … living in constant confusion … that was TFG’s game plan … Crisis Theory.

“Unless the government outlaws fresh, homegrown veggies, Governor Gretchen Whitmer.” Will you not stoop to the lowest possible response. If anyone took 10 seconds to look at the date on this article, it was over 3 years old (at the start of pandemic). If that’s hat you base a governor putting in some sort of measure during a pandemic, it was TFG that shut down the nation … start there.

A Trump-Biden rematch will be the final proof, if ever is needed, that this wonderful country of ours has seen its better days and now is in an unstoppable decline. Two doddering idiots who both belong in an Assisted Living facility. Biden was born less than a year after the Pearl Harbor attack and Trump was born a year after the end of World War II.
