Who doesn’t love a good rock song? There are some great ones and terrific rock groups out there. I’ll admit, I’m a fan of 80’s rock and I’ve quite a playlist from that era. That list includes more than a few songs of Bon Jovi’s.
“Livin On a Prayer” was the first song of Bon Jovi’s that I listened to and its still one of my long-time favorites.
Recently Bon Jovi debuted a new song, and with his actions last Saturday night I’ve decided it needs to be added to my playlist. A little background first.
It seems that Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters isn’t content with only churning out songs and playing gigs around the world, he’s also become a lecturing, haranguing celebrity with a distinct love for Palestine and an incredibly distinct hate for Israel. In fact, Waters is one of the founders of an organization, BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) that openly advocates for both a one-state solution and Israel’s disappearance from the face of the earth.
Over the years, Waters has ranted, raved, and written copious screeds against Israel and against any celebrity who dare visit and or perform in Israel with the exception of Kanye West. Celebrities on his list include singer and U.N. Global Ambassador Dionne Warwick, Robbie Williams, Paul McCartney, Elton John, the Rolling Stones, and many more. Just last week, he took to Salon magazine and lectured Bon Jovi for daring to travel to Israel and perform. Its seems the band was unimpressed with his lecture.

In fact, Bon Jovi’s reply to Water’s little harangue was simple and to the point:
Asked about Waters’ whines, Jon Bon Jovi said simply, “It doesn’t interest me. I told my managers to give one simple answer: that I’m coming to Israel, and I’m excited to come.”
Ouch – that’s gotta hurt! John Hindraker at Powerline blog piles on as only he can:
I have no idea whether Bon Jovi is a Christian, but he evidently shares the excitement that Christians, Jews and others feel at the prospect of visiting the Holy Land. Good for him. He evidently will not be deterred by a left-wing, has-been bully.
Legal Insurrection’s guest writer Doron Goldberg wrote a pointed response to Waters that turns his rant wrote on its head.
You were sitting at your comfortable desk, writing this horrible letter to Bon Jovi, while a group of Arab attackers murdered the Henkin’s in front of their 4 children.
So tell me please, while you have Yasser Arafat rubbing your right shoulder and Samir Kuntar rubbing your left shoulder – who is the one who stand by silent and indifferent? Which one is the criminal, you or Bon Jovi?
Read it all, its worth it. Meanwhile 50,000 fans were in for a treat on Saturday night, and Bon Jovi gave them all of that and more.

Yes they did… in SPADES.
The highlight and absolutely BEST part of the night was when Bon Jovi dedicated his newest song, “We Don’t Run” to everyone in Tel Aviv.
Did you HEAR that Roger?
“I’m not afraid of burning bridges / ’Cause I know they’re gonna light my way / Like a Phoenix, from the ashes / Welcome to the future, it’s a new day / We don’t run / I’m standing my ground / We don’t run / And we don’t back down / There’s fire in the sky / There’s thunder on the mountains / Bless each tear and this dirt I was born in, (run) / We don’t run / We don’t run.”
I join many others in giving a Standing Ovation to Bon Jovi, drummer Tico Torres, and Jewish keyboardist David Bryan (Rashbaum) for not running or backing down, but standing UP for Israel. Bon Jovi, with one song to Tel Aviv, effectively conveyed their empathy for Israel and their disdain of Water’s hateful anti-Israel rants.
Walters is a typical moonbat-no clue at all of what he embraces. These palestinians would gladly cut his throat if it would advance their cause. He’s what Lenin used to call a “useful idiot”. I guess Walters would rather have yet another tyrannical 3rd world toilet filled with fools who believe in the Koran in place of a functioning democracy that believes in peace.
I’ve enjoyed some Pink Floyd music, and their concerts have been over the top. I figure Waters just needs to go back to playing his music and having pigs fly over their heads during the concert. That’s more his speed
Agreed. I wish the celebtards would just zip it-I really don’t want to hear all of their ignorance as it detracts from their performances.
