Andrew Cuomo Goes To Bat For Alec Baldwin

Andrew Cuomo believes the charges against Alec Baldwin are totally political. You see, prosecutors are politicians and, according to Andrew Cuomo, their motivations aren’t about the law, just politics and money. Yes, he’s serious.

Andrew Cuomo whining about politics and political/prosecutorial grandstanding is irony writ exceptionally large. Of course, Cuomo has a reason to hate certain prosecutors.

Cuomo resigned in August 2021 after a report from state Attorney General Letitia James (D) accused him of sexually harassing at least 11 women during his time as governor. He has since criticized James’ work, saying that the investigation was “shoddy” and the outcome was already “predetermined.”

Oh the poor dear. He even had to give up his Emmy! Cue up the miniature violins!

That said, I think it is eminently laughable that HE, of all people, is claiming the prosecutor in New Mexico is only leveling charges at Alec Baldwin for clicks, money, and political bennies. That is how Andrew Cuomo has operated his entire life! He learned it from his dad, Mario Cuomo.

The beloved late New York Governor Mario Cuomo is going to be honored at a glitzy Manhattan event Thursday night — but missing from the guest list is his disgraced son, ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, sources tell The Post.

The scion of the state’s preeminent political clan — along with other members of the Cuomo dynasty — will skip the event and thus avoid coming into contact with other guests with whom he has had a beef since his departure as governor in 2021 amid allegations of sexual misconduct.

Among the expected attendees are former Mario Cuomo aide Howard Glaser, who publicly ripped Andrew during is downfall, and Glaser’s wife Karen Hinton, a former press aide for Andrew who accused the ex-gov of giving her a creepy hug.

So, he can’t handle possibly running into two people who had roles in his downfall? He can’t figure out how to honor his father and stay away from them in a crowd of people? Interesting.

But back to Andrew Cuomo going to bat for Alec Baldwin. With friends like these… Remember Alec Baldwin and others on the movie set were seemingly playing fast and loose with safety protocols. Especially the protocols involving weapon usage. Protocols that are incredibly strict.

An investigation took over a year before New Mexico’s First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies announced the charges last week. Alec Baldwin is charged with involuntary manslaughter.

“After a thorough review of the evidence and the laws of the state of New Mexico, I have determined that there is sufficient evidence to file criminal charges against Alec Baldwin and other members of the ‘Rust’ film crew. On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice.”

According to know-it-all Andrew Cuomo, the charges are bogus and are entirely politically motivated. Instead of gunning for publicity and cash, Cuomo says the prosecutor should follow ONLY the facts.

“Or you could say, ‘On the facts, on the merits. This was a terrible, terrible tragedy on many levels and just a really terrible accident. But there was no intent to hurt anyone. And at the essence of this crime is intent. It’s unfortunate, it’s terrible, but it’s not a crime,’” Cuomo said.

Oh indeed this was a terrible tragedy. And the facts tell us that people on the set were careless. Too many people likely including Alec Baldwin himself.

Yet here comes white knight Andrew Cuomo galloping to the rescue. The very same Andrew Cuomo who was thrilled that Trump faced impeachment. The very same guy who refused Trump’s offer of hospital ships so much so that they stayed 3/4 empty. He’s the same guy who, in the name of politics instead of the welfare of New Yorkers, sent people into nursing homes to die.

In regards to Cuomo’s defense of Alec Baldwin… Baldwin wasn’t “just” an actor on that set. He was a producer. As such, the responsibilities of adhering to all the safety protocols are his. INCLUDING the industry mandated gun safety protocols.

Having Andrew Cuomo leap to Alec’s defense is laughable and won’t help Alec during his time in court. That said, Andrew has spent a considerable amount of time making himself out to be a victim of political attacks. Alec Baldwin has said HE’S the victim as well.

Andrew Cuomo, with all his history, claiming that the prosecutor in the Alec Baldwin case is only out for publicity, money, and political bennies is laughably entertaining.

“You see, prosecutors are politicians and, according to Andrew Cuomo, their motivations aren’t about the law, just politics and money. Yes, he’s serious.”… Well, I know it’s not who he’s talking about, but when it comes to the ones bought and paid for by Soros, he’s spot on…

“Or you could say, ‘On the facts, on the merits. This was a terrible, terrible tragedy on many levels and just a really terrible accident. But there was no intent to hurt anyone. And at the essence of this crime is intent. It’s unfortunate, it’s terrible, but it’s not a crime,’” Cuomo said… Somehow I don’t see him taking the same attitude towards law abiding gun owners in his state…

He pointed a gun at someone and pulled the trigger. It was not for a scene, it was him playing around. And while the armorer was negligent, Baldwin is the one who fired the shot. Never trust any weapon you haven’t cleared yourself.

But there was no intent to hurt anyone. And at the essence of this crime is intent.
Ummm, yes, intent is at the heart of the crime (after having killed someone, of course). And that’s why he charged Baldwin with involuntary manslaughter. “Involuntary” means no intent, but being so stupid you killed someone with your stupidity.
What a f***ing idiot. And this guy was a governor.

Fundamentally, Cuomo is saying “He’s one of the special people, like me, and therefore should be above accountability – like me.”

    • Scott says:

Your last sentance says it GWB, Cuomo knows what he’s saying is bullshit, he’s not an idiot (well, ok, he is, but in this case it’s not that he doesn’t understand), he just thinks that he and baldwin are special..

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

Cuomo and Baldwin…”Birds Of A Feather” That said, if I were Baldwin, I wouldn’t want Cuomo sticking up for me. Now, about the “accident” on the movie set….I’m still wondering how/why live ammo showed up on the set.

    • GWB says:

Information was that they had taken the guns out in the desert for some fun shooting. And someone left live ammo in a weapon or two. Incredibly irresponsible.
