In case you were keeping score, the number of women accusing Al Franken(swine) of sexual misconduct is now seven. Seven women have accused Franken of either groping them, or trying to kiss them, with the latest one – a former Congressional aide – claiming Franken(swine) asserted that sticking his tongue down her throat was his “right as an entertainer.”
“He was between me and the door and he was coming at me to kiss me,” the woman told Politico. “It was very quick and I think my brain had to work really hard to be like ‘Wait, what is happening?’ But I knew whatever was happening was not right and I ducked.”
“I was really startled by it and I just sort of booked it towards the door and he said, ‘It’s my right as an entertainer,’” she added.
A growing chorus of Democrats, to their credit, is calling on Franken(swine) to resign, and his office finally announced today that Gropey McGroperson would be making an announcement tomorrow. We don’t know what the announcement will be about, but one can always hope he will finally un-ass the AO and crawl back under his rock. As I said previously, Franken(swine) does not deserve to be in the Senate and certainly doesn’t deserve to represent the people of Minnesota, so he needs to go.
And yet, until this last accusation, the wart continued to infest the Senate like a tick, sucking on the taxpayer teat and enjoying the perks of public office.
He claimed he was “embarrassed and ashamed,” but apparently not enough to stop further embarrassing the legislative body after betraying the people who elected him. So he came back to work, claiming he was going to regain the trust of the people of Minnesota, venting his utter “shock” at the accusations leveled against him, and looking forward to rehabilitating his image.
He obviously couldn’t imagine that so many women would object to his slimy tongue trying to slither its way into their throats or his hammy booger hooks groping their body parts! After all, it was his “right as an entertainer” to abuse others, because he’s so gorram popular and so famous, right?
NO!
How delusional does one have to be to assume that they can sexually assault others at will merely because they’re famous and/or powerful? Just what kind of pernicious dick weasel thinks he’s entitled to degrade, demean, assault, and take liberties with other people’s bodies merely because he happens to be funny or popular? Just what kind of odious, arrogant hemorrhoid believes assault and humiliation are his “right as an entertainer?”
It’s time to show Franken(swine) and every other entitled prick – whether in the media, Hollywood, or Capitol Hill – that we’re done with them. They are not entitled to our bodies or our honor and self-respect!
Franken(swine) refused to resign for weeks. He thought his utterly insincere apology would be enough to allow him to remain the Senate and continue to bleed the taxpayers dry, while working to implement policies that are sure to bring economic ruin to our country.
It is only after his Senate colleagues began to stand up and demand he go away, did he (hopefully) consider vacating his seat.
It wasn’t shame. It wasn’t embarrassment. It wasn’t remorse about his apparent abuse of multiple women. He didn’t care about them, as he continued to lie about his past as a predator, claiming he didn’t remember his actions and asserting how much he respected women. It was only when 17 Senators (at last count), including the second ranking Democrat in chamber, called on Franken(swine) to GTFO that he finally decided to (hopefully) make that announcement.
Sens. Claire McCaskill of Missouri, Patty Murray of Washington, Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire, Kamala Harris of California, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Maria Cantwell of Washington and Mazie Hirono of Hawaii also joined in the call for Franken to resign. He has been accused of inappropriately touching several women.
Sen. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania was the first male Democratic senator to call on Franken to resign just after noon Wednesday. Sens. Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Michael Bennet of Colorado, Ed Markey of Massachusetts, Patrick Leahy of Vermont and Sherrod Brown also called for Franken to step down. Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois — the Democratic whip — also called on Franken to resign just before 1 p.m. ET.
Murray’s backing is significant because she’s a member of Democratic leadership and is the highest ranking woman in the Senate.
Another molester – John Conyers – finally decided to “retire” (read: was pressured to get the hell out before things got worse for the pig) after a former staffer accused him of groping her in church. IN CHURCH. What kind of ferret-humping dickwit does that? The “icon” hung on like a burning case of the herp until he could no longer deny the long list of allegations against him.
Franken(swine) will hopefully follow suit.
ROFL!! haven’t even read the post yet, but just fro the title, I knew it had to be written by Marta, and i just thought that alone was worth commenting on… I’m sure I’ll have more to comment on after reading it, but for now, great title as always!
Ok, having read it, it is as usual, another Marta masterpiece! you can turn a phrase like few others ma’am, and it is a pleasure to read your writings. To anyone who has been paying attention, franken has been scum since before he first stole the election to the Senate ( think his book “Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot”) and other examples of wit… he was, is, and always will be a buffoon, and apparently a groper! As i mentioned in another thread, let him resign, with loss of all benefits, continue the investigation, and if found guilty, force him to repay all pay and benefits from the time of offense till now, because he damn sure wasn’t doing his job of representing the people during that time.
Al Franken is the kind of guy some woman needs to swing away at his knees with a Louisville Slugger.
The “icon” hung on like a burning case of the herp
ROFL
Quoting that old Saturday Night Live sketch, if Al Franken were a horror movie character he’d be “The Thing That Wouldn’t Leave”.
Good post – One quibble.
Democrats don’t get any credit for finally asking Al FrankenGroper to resign.
When a chorus of people call for resignation on the same day, it’s a coordinated action. Nothing has changed from when they called for an ethics investigation, e.g. Drop this matter down a bureaucratic hole.
They did not simply grow a conscience overnight.
It’s a raw political calculation that they need to throw a few bodies under Pelosi’s bus in order to revive their “war on women” theme. Given what now seems to be a dozen plus major, high profile infotainment donors and celebrities as casualties of alleged criminal and near criminal behavior plus serious Congressional misbehavior plus Bill Clinton – well, its not quite the Aegean stables but they got a lot of cleaning up to do to back to virtue signaling and moral preening again.
And what is a midterm election (or any day of the week that ends in ‘y’) without a lot of Democratic moral preening.
They don’t care about what th FrankenGroper did they are just pissed that he makes a mockery of their election campaign plans and attempt to grab more power again.
ElGreco, I would agree with you that they did not grow a conscience overnight. And I further agree that it’s a raw political calculation. However, I think they’re after bigger fish. What I believe they’re doing is clearing the decks so they can go full speed after Trump for his conduct with women.
So now after Conyers and Franken go they can say, “See, like Caesar’s wife, we are above suspicion. Now we can challenge Trump and it’s not political.”
It’s always about the politics and power with Democrats. Franken is negotiating his deal.
Dems have three reasons for him to leave:
1. The race card. House Dems overplayed the pressure on Conyers. Now the Dems need a white man to resign. Feel’n Franken is a Jew, so it appeals to the growing Minneapolis Somali and Dearborn, Mich bases to get him out. Have Gov. Dayton appoint Keith Ellison to replace him, and you score the double bonus of a black who’s the First Muslim Senator. That overcomes the problems caused by having forced Conyers out, and strengthens support in Michigan and Minnesota for 2020;
2. Franken’s re-election to the Senate in 2020 was probably a lost cause before his wandering hands became a story that even the Minneapolis media couldn’t ignore. So, appoint someone who can keep the seat;
3. Roy Moore. Dem candidate Jones is pro-abortion on demand (and likely for taxpayer funding of it), pro-gun control, use the tax code to redistribute wealth, sure vote for Chuck Schumer Democrat. If Franken resigns, the MSM will beat the The Dems Threw Out Their Sexual Predator Senator, So Should The Republicans drum.
Don’t know what Franken is demanding, and it won’t be reported or investigated any time soon, but expect it to be substantial. But, Soros can afford it.
“Ferret-humping dickwit.” I am MOST DEFINITELY stealing that one, Marta! Found y’all via The Prof, great stuff, Girls!
Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy – his wife must be thrilled by all this
Marta, That was good. It is the kind of writing that I feel compelled to read to other people (wife) and say, “You gotta hear this.”
I’m still shaking my head about all these highty-tightey guys who had been pigs for, apparently, decades, as in the sense of, “What the hell gets into people?”
I’m not denying that they did all this, for the most part anyway. The reason I’m a little incredulous is that, well, I’m just not… wired that way. God has blessed me with a wonderful woman and I love her. There’s simply NO WAY IN HEAVEN, HELL, OR EARTH that I’d risk exploding that relationship, and my life as a whole, for a couple of seconds of touchy-feely. Plus, to me, if she’s not into me as much as I’m into her, it doesn’t work. There’s no excitement unless we’re both singin’ the same tune. (But, when she and I are, boy howdy….)
Maybe that’s the reason I’m a frequently-struggling data geek instead of a well-heeled entertainer or public official.
Sigh. Thanks for letting me vent; I really enjoy this blog.
Great piece, but let’s remember the people of Minnesota RE-elected Franken. Turns out he was exactly what he wanted. Just like he was exactly what Reid, Pelosi and Schumer wanted.
So glad you guys are journalists (???) and not lawyers.
