After a weekend of rocket attacks from Gaza, Israel was standing firm and retailating as their “Iron Dome” system continued to work.
Of course, given the quantity and frequency of the rockets coming from Gaza, it was clear that their strategy was to overwhelm the “Iron Dome” as much as possible.
The IDF reported four fatalities as of Sunday afternoon, with over 600 rockets launched at them.

And while Hamas shot here, there, and everywhere…
This is insane!
Over 650 rockets rained down on #Israel by Palestinian terrorists in #Gaza in last 36 hrs. At least 4 Israelis killed, hundreds injured.

… the IDF was trying to target Hamas leadership as much as possible.

But early Monday morning in Israel, word came that a ceasefire agreement had been reached, and was announced on an official Hamas television station.
Could that announcement of a ceasefire have anything to do with this little announcement from National Security Advisor John Bolton?

Oh, well, parking the USS Abraham Lincoln and her little friends nearby might just have a teeny bit of an effect, hmmm?
The action, confirmed by the Defense Department, comes “in response to a number of troubling and escalatory indications and warnings,” Bolton said, and is intended to convey “to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force.”
Bolton added: “The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but we are fully prepared to respond to any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or regular Iranian forces.”
But what does sending a message to Iran have to do with Hamas? Money. Where do you think Hamas is getting the money for rockets? They aren’t running a lemonade stand at Hamas headquarters. And the United States knows it, and is telling Iran that we know it.
According to the Navy’s official website, the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group had departed Norfolk, Va., on April 1 for what was described as “as a regularly scheduled deployment.” Rear Adm. John Wade is commander of the carrier strike group.”
The Lincoln is already in the Mediterranean, where it has been conducting a two-carrier exercise with another carrier, the Stennis.”
Bolton’s statement came not long after Trump tweeted about the violent situation in southern Israel and Gaza. Hamas — which has links to Iran — has been firing rockets from Gaza into Israel, and Israel has responded with airstrikes. Israel and Iran, of course, are mortal enemies.”
“We support Israel 100% in its defense of its citizens,” Trump wrote online.”
“To the Gazan people — these terrorist acts against Israel will bring you nothing but more misery,” the president added. “END the violence and work towards peace – it can happen!”
The truly terrible part? Those large pallets of cash that the Obama administration gave Iran thanks to the incredibly stupid Iran Deal? You can bet that money ended up buying Hamas rockets that killed Israeli civilians this weekend. Well done, Team Obama! Tell us again how you were so incorruptible and awesome. Someone should really ask Joe Biden about that Iran Deal cash, right?

“Someone should really ask Joe Biden about that Iran Deal cash, right?”
Definitely! But save it for the general election, if he makes it that far…
There is something I don’t understand here. Why doesn’t Israel just stomp on Hamas until they are ground to dust? Why agree to a ceasefire? I suspect the reason Hamas agreed to a ceasefire was they ran out of rockets, or maybe they ran out of rocket shooters.
Would that Bolton had sent many bombs, not to Israel, but to Iran. Bombs, dropped from 35,000 feet or so.
work towards peace
The problem is that Israel (and those of us left in the West with at least half a brain) defines peace very differently from how Hamas defines it (the peace of the grave).
