Several of the clowns in the Democrat Circus of 2020 showed up to kiss Al Sharpton’s ring at the National Action Network.
The group convention took part over the past few days and included the likes of Kamala Harris, Spartacus Booker, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Klobuchar and Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper. Sounds like quite the party. (Yawn.)
Sharpton’s organization proudly proclaims “no justice, no peace”. From the NAN website:
National Action Network is one of the leading civil rights organizations in the Nation with chapters throughout the entire United States. Founded in 1991 by Reverend Al Sharpton, NAN works within the spirit and tradition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to promote a modern civil rights agenda that includes the fight for one standard of justice, decency and equal opportunities for all people regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, criminal record, economic status, gender, gender expression, or sexuality.”
And, to, no doubt, line Sharpton’s pockets. Nonetheless, they all came running to kneel at the altar of The Rev.
Kamala Harris:
Justice means recognizing domestic terrorism, including white nationalist extremism, which should be considered a national security priority.”
Race-baiting and playing like putty into Sharpton’s greazzzzy, money-grubbing hands. The guy loves this stuff. He lives for it. He’s made a career of it.
Bernie Sanders:
As many of you know, my campaign for president is about taking on the handful of extraordinarily wealthy and powerful people in this country who have unbelievable power over the economic and political life of this country. It makes no sense to me that, at a time when millions of Americans are working two or three jobs just to survive, the three wealthiest people in our country own more wealth than the bottom half of Americans and the top 1 percent owns more wealth than the bottom 92 percent. It makes no sense to me that at a time when hundreds of thousands of bright young people cannot afford to go to college, and when millions are leaving school deeply in debt, 46% of all new income goes to the top 1%.”
Because a white guy with a few mansions who lives in a state where roughly 1% of the population is black knows so much about inequality. Noted. Go get your hot milk and take a nap, Bernie. Let it go, it’s over.

That Sharpton — with his decades-long dubious record of racial incitement, demagoguery, corporate shakedowns, tax liens and other fiscal shenanigans — can summon Democrats like lemmings with the snap of his fingers is a deeply depressing sign of how low that party has sunk.

But we think the best of the four-day long “tribute” to Dr. Martin Luther King came from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. This is the icing on the cake. Alert, Hillary 2.0 coming at you in full surround-sound:

Rep.@AOC received private tutoring lessons from Hillary Clinton in “Black People Voice Technique” before she spoke at Al Sharptons conference. She had a bottle of hot sauce on standby in her purse in case she needed it.

Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter to defend herself as per usual:

“Reparations are long overdue”, they say. Looks like AOC set those reparations back a few more decades with that fake voice. Let’s not neglect the glaring obvious that a white woman who posed as a Native-American and a white Irishman who thinks he’s Mexican were two of the speakers posturing at NAN. And where do Sharpton’s reparations come in? You know, the ones for tax evasion, Tawana Brawley, drug deals, taunting of Jewish communities-just to name a few?
The NAN conference should have democrats-both young and more seasoned-asking questions. Sadly, most young democrats are too young to remember a lot of The Rev’s illicit dealings. We encourage them to do their homework and ask questions. And to the seasoned dems? Why do you think these people pandering to this man? And why, after knowing his criminal history, are they still cozying up to him? Most democratic socialists-young and old-will not question why Ocasio-Cortez changed her voice to speak to the largely African-American crowd because CNN tells them it’s because she’s so “smart”.
All things that make you go “hmmmmm”.

Here’s a quote from another black man – one who used to be held up as an exemplar of achievement – from the early 20th century (a book he wrote in 1911):
There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Because you don’t understand economics, and therefore don’t understand how your very policies cause that situation.

Look, it’s one thing to “speak in a manner related to your audience”. It’s something else entirely to use the word “ain’t” when you’ve never before in your life ever used it like that. (I’ve not watched as much of her as some of you masochists, but I have never before heard that word come out of her mouth.) When you try to say ‘like’ like a southerner – and it’s the only word in your sentence said that way.
But honestly, it’s not her fault. These people evidently love being pandered to. They love being spoken down to, as if they are ignoramuses that require you to speak slowly and in small words.
I do it, we all do it.
Well, *I* do it because I used to have a facility with languages, and I’d grown up all over, and I unconsciously fit my speech patterns to those around me. So, my southern/Texas accent goes away most of the time, and I sound somewhat local. (Heck, after 3 days in London, all us foreign language students were having our own conversations with slight English accents.) When I get tired, though, I get “tahrd” and there ain’t no gettin’ ’round it.
