Will Bergdahl Actually Be Charged With Desertion?

Bowe Bergdahl, who returned to the United States custody this last summer (after spending time in the Taliban’s hands under dubious circumstances) in exchange for 5 Taliban leaders who had been sitting in Gitmo, has not been much seen or heard from since. The circumstances under which Bergdahl ended up with the Taliban have been under investigation ever since. The Army finished its investigation last October, but the results have not been released.

Now, The O’Reilly Factor is reporting that the White House has been withholding the results, because the Army wants to charge Bowe Bergdahl with desertion.

(Retired Lt. Col. Tony) Shaffer, senior fellow at the London Center for Policy Research, told Bill O’Reilly on Monday night that his sources have confirmed the Army has concluded its investigation and Bergdahl’s lawyer has been given a “charge sheet” informing him of the desertion charge.

Shaffer also said the Obama administration has been keeping details on the desertion charges hidden from the public. He personally placed blame on Ben Rhodes, Obama’s deputy national security advisor.

“This is shaping up to be a Titanic struggle behind the scenes,” he added. “Believe me, the Army here wants to do the right thing. Factually, there’s no way they can not do the right thing regarding Bergdahl. And the White House, because of the political narrative, President Obama cozying up to the parents and because he, President Obama, releasing the five Taliban… The narrative is what the White House does not want to have come out.”

This will be a HUGE political embarrassment for the Obama Administration, especially after the Rose Garden dog-and-pony show that Obama and Bergdahl’s parents put on for the cameras when the announcement was made.

He gave up five Taliban leaders for a deserter. We used to deal much more harshly with desertion in times past. Now we trade terrorists for them. And that’s the last thing the Obama Administration wants to get out.

Supreme Warlord Obozo will wait for the furor to die down-then he’ll probably name this traitorous pig Secretary of the Army because it makes total sense for this odious maladministration.

Congress should hold a hearing, subpoena Ben Rhodes, and ask him the question.
