Honest question: did Georgia Democrats actually vet Raphael Warnock before the primaries and November election?

Or did they just write off the seat as a lost cause until November happened, and the Georgia election law then triggered the runoff election? Because truthfully, there is no rational reason for running Warnock in a statewide campaign in Georgia.

Now, this is not to say that he can’t win. Given the sharp divides in the electorate, the huge money involved, and the media putting their thumb on the scales of reportage (as we shall see), Warnock could well pull off a win. There is some polling data on this race – but given how much the polling data was suspect this time around, it feels risky to put any stock in pollsters.

That being said, Warnock got absolutely smashed in the one and only debate in this runoff period between him and Kelly Loeffler (pro tip: whenever one side accuses the other of wearing a wire to have answers fed to them, the side making the accusation is, by admittance, the loser), and the opposition research that the GOP had on Warnock was… extensive. An arrest for obstructing a child abuse investigation. Alleged spousal abuse. Communist fanboy leanings.

In an ordinary election, these would be too much for the average voter to ignore. This is not an ordinary election.

So, while Politifact runs defense (because that’s what they do for Democrats; they are not actual fact-checkers despite their name) for Warnock, the body camera footage from the domestic disturbance police response has been released. While actual injury to Warnock’s now-ex-wife, Ouleye Ndoye, is in dispute, what is not in dispute is the fact that she had some very interesting things to say about her former husband.

“This man’s running for United States Senate, and all he cares about right now is his reputation,” she says to the officer. “I’ve been very quiet about the way that he is for the sake of my kids and his reputation.”

“I’ve tried to keep the way that he acts under wraps for a long time, and today he crossed the line. So that is what is going on here. And he’s a great actor. He is phenomenal at putting on a really good show,” Ndoye said.”

The footage was revealed on Tucker Carlson’s show last night.

Now, as Tucker noted, Ndoye’s injuries were either non-existent or minor. However, let us imagine that Kelly Loeffler was accused of running over an ex’s foot with her car, and video like this existed. Imagine what the media would currently be doing right now. This footage would be running on all the cable news shows. Loeffler would be raked over the coals. If you can’t quite imagine the media going after a female candidate that way (even though they have no concerns about the sensitive feelings of Republican women), then imagine that this was David Perdue instead. But, since it’s a Democrat, who cares about the #MeToo angle or the divorce or the custody battle or the character accusations? A quick retweet will cover all of that!

Brett Kavanaugh was crucified for less evidence than this. If the media didn’t have double standards, it would have no standards at all.

Speaking of the media and their standards…

Wow, I can just feel the impartiality and evenhandedness in those sub-headlines.

Warnock IS a radical. This is getting a high-shine gloss from the media, but there is no doubt as to what his political leanings are, and his extreme stance on abortion – in light of his self-described “pro-choice pastor” moniker – has even earned him criticism from other black ministers. This is the guy the Democrats are running in Georgia, in the hopes that he will just be another “D” in their column and will help them flip the balance in the Senate. Honestly, Warnock looks to have a better chance than Ossoff (or Orsoff, depending on if Joe Biden remembers his name) at winning, but again, this is not an ordinary year, or an ordinary election.

We MUST hold Georgia in order to thwart the left. And Warnock is able to sidestep all the #MeToo questions that he should be facing because the media are failures. Don’t let them get away with it.
