Welcome to the wacky Pacific Northwest. Namely, The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. You may recall how, just a few days ago, students harassed professor Bret Weinstein for his choice of not participating in the “Day of Absence & Day of Presence” demonstration, for which white students, faculty and staff were asked to leave campus for one day.

Evergreen has held this “day of absence” for several years now. Traditionally, students, staff, and faculty of color are invited to stay away from campus and take part in discussions about racism and other intersectional issues, organized by the school’s Director of First Peoples Multicultural Advising Services, Rashida Love. This year; people of color (professors and students) were invited to stay on campus while all white faculty and students were asked to stay away from campus. Weinstein questioned the decision in an e-mail:

“There is a huge difference between a group or coalition deciding to voluntarily absent themselves from a shared space in order to highlight their vital and underappreciated roles . . . and a group or coalition encouraging another group to go away. The first is a forceful call to consciousness which is, of course, crippling to the logic of oppression. The second is a show of force, and an act of oppression in and of itself.”-Bret Weinstein

Because of this message, all hell broke loose. Weinstein is raaacissst. Weinstein should be fired. A couple of anonymous filmmakers captured the ridiculousness and immortalized the Evergreen State College protests for all to see:

Apparently, these snowflakes were not in the perfect lighting or at all perfect camera angles and they did not like this video at all. After it became viral on the Internet, demands were sent to college president, George Bridges:

“We demand that the video created for Day of Absence and Day of Presence that was stolen by white supremacists and edited to expose and ridicule the students and staff be taken down by the administration by this Friday.”

Next steps:
Based on conversations with the Attorney General’s office, the most likely course of action requires an investigation. We commit to launching an extensive forensic investigation of the theft of this video and to determining who stole it from the student. If that investigation yields a suspect, we will seek criminal charges against the individual in consultation with the Attorney General.

Sure. “White supremacists” leaked the video that illustrated protestors cursing up a storm, yelling in people’s faces and barely understanding basic sentence structure and how to read a simple paragraph (so much for Evergreen’s unconventional “grading” system and pot being legal in Washington). They feel demoralized and dehumanized. Oh yeah, and they don’t want homework, either!
