Where does Tucker Carlson find these people? Does he peer under every rock in Looney Land? Or do they idiotically volunteer?
On his Fox News Channel program “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Carlson battled a malcontent whose stock in trade is burning the American flag. Marc Perkel has even created a webpage to promote it: flagburning.org.
Generally people who create websites around causes have a desired end in mind. Whether they are for or against something, they usually want to promote what they believe is a better way of life. Not Perkel. No, he just wants to show patriotic Americans that he has the right to be a jerk. A troll. Yes, a total a**hole.
His webpage, I will add, is full of obsessive hatred for former Presidents George H.W. Bush (whom he incorrectly called “George Bush Sr.), and George W. Bush, neither of whom have held office since January, 2009, at latest.
Oh, he also hates Republicans, of course, and the very Supreme Court that declared that he had a right to burn the flag. He called it the “Republican Supreme Court.” He also made up his own version of the pledge to the flag — which he says people have a “duty” to burn.
I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the REAL United States of America
and to the Republic –
elected by the People – not by the Court
for which it stands,
one nation – indivisible
with Liberty and Justice for everyone
not just rich white Republicans
Marc Perkel is now angry that Donald Trump said earlier that no one should be allowed to burn the flag without facing consequences of jail time or even loss of citizenship, and appeared on Carlson’s program to express his anger with Trump for those assertions. Carlson said he agreed that Trump’s comments were incorrect, since they flew in the face of a Supreme Court ruling that found flag burning to be protected by the First Amendment. But Perkel went far beyond his discontent with Trump.

Perkel’s body language is interesting. Note how he rarely looks at the camera, but instead keeps looking down. Is he uncomfortable appearing on camera? Does he feel intimidated by Tucker Carlson? Or does he realize that being a jackass in front of God and everybody isn’t quite the thrill he thinks it is?
But someone call Rosie O’Donnell. Maybe she can diagnose Marc Perkel as autistic. Nah, he’s just an malcontented leftist who got tripped up by Tucker Carlson.
