In case you were wondering if Camp Trump had truly gone off the deep end, the Freedom Girls came along to give you confirmation. Political propaganda and child indoctrination, blended together with nauseating lyrics, and suddenly you have the perfect song to usher in the sweet meteor that takes us all.
On Wednesday night a group called the Freedom Kids performed for a Donald Trump rally in Pensacola, Florida.
See the full video below:
I remember watching conservatives lose their cool over a song written for Barack Obama, I’m sincerely intrigued to see what the response after this train wreck will be. But seriously, guys…
We knew the obsession over Donald Trump had reached weapons grade levels, but this is something completely off the charts. It’s like Kids Bop meets The Apprentice, with a little Soviet Union mixed in.
The trio, who called themselves the “USA Freedom Kids,” sang about America’s greatness and what Trump will do for the country if he wins the 2016 presidential race.
“Cowardice, are you serious? Apologies for freedom — I can’t handle this! When freedom rings, answer the call!” they sang. “On your feet, stand up tall! Freedom’s on our shoulders, USA! Enemies of freedom face the music. Come on boys, take them down!”
The tweets were, well, priceless.
There was a world that existed before the Trump Freedom Girls, and one that now exists after. No other measurement of time is relevant.

It’s not the fault of these poor kids. Somewhere out there a group of adults should be ashamed of themselves, because using kids for this level of propaganda should be frowned upon in any situation. That said, it’s not everyday that you see children singing about crushing our enemies. I mean, where do you even go from here? How do you exit a Twilight episode? Are American politics so bad that we’ve reached an irreversible point? Is the end near? What’s parody and what’s real?
In addition… I’m begging here, Americans, can we keep “Ameritude” off of next year’s list of Oxford Dictionary additions?
Some folks are coming to realize that it is entirely possible that Trump will simply be a more right-wing populist authoritarian version of 0bama. The dude’s ego is massive. (One important difference: Trump’s ego has at least *some* achievements it can point to as the reason for its size; 0bama has … choom?)
Having little kids perform patriotic songs at your event is not a bad thing. Having them sing songs about *you* is… weird.
One caveat, though: this is not really something new. It’s actually a bit of a return to the sort of theatrics that used to be part and parcel of our politics. The stuff back before radio/TV when all our politicians became “elder statesmen” is … well, think combining a snake oil salesman with a carnival freak show. Dignity has not really been a principle of American politics, ever.
Those poor girls. Did they just say “Ameritude” (1:25)?
