Members of the White House Press Corps are performative phonies? This is my shocked face getting resurrected. Karoline Leavitt, during a podcast interview with Sean Hannity, ripped off the curtain.

On a Tuesday episode of Fox News anchor Sean Hannity’s podcast “Hang Out with Sean Hannity,” Leavitt, 29, said Hannity was correct in guessing that reporters were often “totally different people” when the cameras stopped rolling.

“There’s a performative aspect to the briefing room. In fairness, I think on both sides, right? But definitely with the press, and they have to do that because their bosses are demanding it,” Leavitt said.

Upon reading that, my mind immediately flashed to Jim Acosta and all of his bloviating during President Trump’s first term. Now, would he be one to make nice and apologize when the cameras aren’t rolling? Somehow I doubt it.

But others evidently did so after the briefings were done.

Another great performer, whose tenure at Fox News always puzzled me, is Geraldo.

Geraldo, you got troop movements wrong, and the entire Al Capone vault thing was a comedic failure.

Karoline, who changed the WH Press Corps culture during her tenure as Press Secretary, outed the performance phonies in the media just as President Trump decided access is limited. Too many people, including some experts in the law, are saying that MS Now, CNN, and Politico shouldn’t be banned from the White House. As I’ve stated before, our First Amendment provides freedom of the press. It does NOT mandate access by or to anyone.

The media currently has every ability to report all the news, without bias. Yet, their bias showed during President Trump’s speech at the UN. The networks chose to go radio silent.

“I’ve gotten on the phone with the leadership of all of those stations and said, ‘ Why aren’t you taking the president’s remarks live? Let your audience decide how they feel about this. Oh well, we have more important things to cover here today. Okay, good to know,” Leavitt said.

Leavitt claimed there’s a “bias of omission” in the media.

“For the president of the United States to address the nation, and for networks to make the editorial decisions themselves that they will not cover it for their audience, that’s scary stuff,” she said.

Several in the media, especially CNN, chose not to air President Trump’s speech. But then, they cherry-picked portions (some even did so w/out linking his speech), and put their own spin on his speech.

Those of us who watch the media, have seen this happen. We’ve seen them take comments and present them totally out of context. That happened hundreds of times during President Trump’s first time. We are watching it happen again and again during his second term.

Yet those same performance phonies were totally fine with Biden hiding in basements during his campaign, wandering off the reservation and being herded by the Easter Bunny, screaming into the microphone, actively edited his remarks, and totally glitching out during his debate with Trump.

It’s not only the performative phoniness during White House briefings, it is the fact that the White House Press Corp has a narrative, is being ordered to push narratives with their asinine questions, and has no real desire to objectively report the news.

And they gaze into the mirror and ask, ‘why don’t they like us?’ Self-awareness is not their strong suit.
