Tim Ryan Poster Boy For How To Beat MAGAs, Huh?

WaPo “Conservative” columnist Jennifer Rubin believes that Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan (D) has shown the way to beat MAGA candidates. To Jennifer I say, huh? My late Father hated that. Huh?, made him crazy. He is now standing a Heavenly post, but I think he would let it slide in this case because Rubin’s raging Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) has warped her thought processes beyond comprehension. Huh? is the only possible response.

Just in case you are not a news and politics junkie who stumbled across this post by accident, I will provide you with the particulars. Congressman Ryan is vying with author J.D. Vance (Hillbilly Elegy), a Republican, for the seat of retiring Ohio Senator Rob Portman (R). J. D. Vance is an inactive Marine, lawyer, author and venture capitalist, age 38. Tim Ryan, worked in politics before becoming a Congresscritter for the last 21 years. In 2020 he ran for President as a Democrat. He did not win. He is 49 years old. His resume is rather thin. Speaking of thin resumes, during the debate with Vance, Ryan boasted about his service to the country. Yes, indeed he did, as I wrote after the first debate.

In the second debate, Ryan tried to accuse Vance of racism. That didn’t work out so well either, as Kim wrote:

“You are so desperate for political power that you’ll accuse me, the father of three beautiful biracial babies, of engaging in racism. We are sick of it. You can believe in a border without being a racist. You can believe in the country without being a racist.”

“And this just shows how desperate this guy is for political power. I know you’ve been in office for 20 years, Tim, and I know it’s a sweet gig, but you’re so desperate not to have a real job that you’ll slander me and slander my family — it’s disgraceful.”

What was it about Tim Ryan that Jennifer Rubin found so inspiring? Here is a hint from Rubin’s WaPo column:

Ohio is a solidly red state that former president Donald Trump won by eight points in 2020. Yet Democrat Tim Ryan is essentially tied with Trump sycophant J.D. Vance in the state’s U.S. Senate race.

How is that possible? Well, consider Ryan’s performance in his debate with Vance on Monday in which the moderate Democrat gave a tutorial in demolishing a weaselly MAGA cultist.

Who you calling weaselly, you spineless Washington Post hamster? Rubin loved that Ryan called Vance an ass-kisser and mocked Vance. Which is interesting. Interesting because Chuck Schumer helped fund Ryan’s run and I am sure Chuck expects nothing back from Ryan.

More from Rubin:

Contrary to Republican claims that Democrats are soft on crime, Ryan also skewered Vance for promoting the legal defense fund for insurrectionists who assaulted police at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. “Can you imagine one guy saying out of one side of his mouth he’s pro-cop, and out of the other side of his mouth he’s raising money for the insurrectionists who were beating up the Capitol police?” Ryan declared.

If Rubin knew anything about MAGAs, she would know that if we held an insurrection, it wouldn’t look like the January 6 clownshow. It sure looked like a Fedsurrection. But let’s talk about the “mostly peaceful” riots in major Midwest cities in the Summer of 2020 and how Democrats excused that.

More of Rubin’s pearls:

The overall impression from Ryan’s performance was that Vance is a smarmy lightweight beholden to extremists. Ryan took Vance to task for his nonprofit meant to combat opioid addiction, which did nothing of the sort. And he lit into Vance for sneering at support for Ukraine. As Ryan put it, “If J.D. had his way, [Vladimir] Putin would be through Ukraine at this point. He’d be going into Poland.”

Smarmy? Really. Vance shut down his nonprofit because it required full time fundraising. We all hate Vladimir Putin, but that doesn’t mean that we have to be blind to the warmongers funding Ukraine. Hello?

Beholden to extremists? Tim Ryan told voters last night that “I don’t want a Country with more hate, more fear, more division, more anger.” He wants a Country with more love, compassion and decency. And, then:

He says J.D. Vance is in with the extremists.

Jennifer Rubin and her TDS picked wrong again. Tim Ryan is going down and will have to get a real job for the first time in his life. And, he is gonna be the one saying, “Huh?”.
