Tim Ryan Race-Baiting JD Vance Backfires

It’s never a good idea to get between a man and the wife and children he dearly loves. Yet Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) did just that in Monday night’s knock-down, drag-out debate with challenger JD Vance.

Tim Ryan and JD Vance Duke It Out

The two went toe-to-toe over issues like abortion…

… and the elimination of cash bail in the face of rising crime.

Tim Ryan — because he’s a Democrat and has little else to hang his hat onto — threw down his Trump card (see what I did there?) and accused Vance of kissing Trump’s tuchus:

“You were calling Trump America’s Hitler. Then you kissed his ass.”

Ryan became flustered when Vance pointed out that Ryan, while trying to distance himself from Nancy Pelosi, has voted with her “100 percent of the time.” Ryan, said Vance, “says he’s reasonable, keeps saying he’s a moderate … but when he gets to Washington, he votes the opposite way.”

To which Ryan replied:

“You keep talking about Nancy Pelosi. If you want to run against Nancy Pelosi, move back to San Francisco and run against Nancy Pelosi. You’re running against me.”

But things really got testy when Tim Ryan accused Vance of promoting the Great Replacement Theory. With that, Ryan in essence charged JD Vance with racism.

What Tim Ryan Said

You know that when things get desperate for Democrats, they love to pull out the race card, especially when it comes to the southern border. Dems anticipate it will be a death blow to a Republican opponent, because how do you answer to the charge of racism?

Yet JD Vance did just that.

One of the moderators gave Ryan his set-up to accuse Vance of advancing the “Great Replacement Theory.” Vance’s support of such “racist, extremist” theories led to a mass shooting in Buffalo, said Ryan.

Tim Ryan really stepped into it with that. Vance fired back:

“You are so desperate for political power that you’ll accuse me, the father of three beautiful biracial babies, of engaging in racism. We are sick of it. You can believe in a border without being a racist. You can believe in the country without being a racist.”

“And this just shows how desperate this guy is for political power. I know you’ve been in office for 20 years, Tim, and I know it’s a sweet gig, but you’re so desperate not to have a real job that you’ll slander me and slander my family — it’s disgraceful.”

Like I said, it’s never a good idea to get between a man and the wife and children he dearly loves.

About JD Vance’s Biracial Family

Usha Chilukuri Vance, JD Vance’s wife, lists her hometown as San Diego, CA, but her ethnicity is Indian. Usha is an impressive individual in her own right, too. She’s an associate attorney with Munger, Tolles, & Olson LLP, focusing on civil litigation. Like her husband, she is also a graduate of Yale University, which is where they met. She has been admitted to the bar in both California and Ohio, which is where she works from remotely.

Not only that, but Usha also clerked for Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Roberts, as well as for Judge Brett Kavanaugh before he became a justice. She has quite an impressive resumé, indeed.

And yes, Usha and JD have biracial children — two boys and one girl, who was born in December, 2021.

Now you’d think that Tim Ryan would have known about Vance’s marriage and children. I’m sure he did. But he thought that dropping the race card would bring Vance to his knees.

It didn’t. And Ryan admitted after feeling the force of Vance’s counter-attack:

“I think I struck a nerve with this guy.”

To which Vance replied:

“You absolutely struck a nerve!”

Tim Ryan struck a nerve with more than just JD Vance, however. He and his fellow travelers in the Democrat party have angered Republicans with their race-baiting schtick, especially those of us of the Caucasian persuasion with minority persons in our extended families. We’re sick of it. JD Vance just spoke for us all.

  • GWB says:

    but her nationality is Indian
You mean her national origin is Indian, right? I find it hard to believe a non-American could have clerked for our Chief Justice.

One of the problems in fighting back against progressives is that they have warped all the actual virtues and twisted all the actual vices so that even responding to an accusation is seen as a bad thing. You have to tear into them and steamroll that nonsense.

Being married to another ethnicity/race doesn’t necessarily make you not a racist. But it certainly puts the race-mongers in their place. (I’ve had to use it once or twice in self-defense, unfortunately.)

  • LTC Ted says:

Strategically, Ryan may have found a way to smear Vance among those who ARE racist. “Senator Blafflenug: I hate to bring this here up, but why is my worthy opponent a-hidin’ the Indian in his woodpile?” As you know, we may insert any color/ethnicity in Blafflenug’s sentence except the forbidden “n-word”. After all, can’t have “To Kill A Mockingbird”, ‘causa that word.

Before engaging me on this issue, my genes span the globe. Hint, hint.

Don’t worry LTC, some mouth breather like Kevin will show up and pull a biden, you know, something along the lines of “you ain’t black if you don’t vote for me” or some such.. The party of the KKK hasn’t really changed their sheets, just gotten better at hiding it..

  • Cameron says:

By this evening, it will be dutifully reported that Vance’s wife is a White Indian and the “brown face of white supremacy with internalized racism.”

It’s as if we’ve seen the media do this before.

  • […] In the second debate, Ryan tried to accuse Vance of racism. That didn’t work out so well either, as Kim wrote: […]
