Yesterday, Kamala Harris took a break from her debate prep to stage an “unplanned visit” to a Penzeys Spices store. She called for unity and for an end to all the divisiveness in this country. The glaring hypocrisy of that statement given the store she was standing in was beyond arrogant.
Kamala Harris made a campaign stop on Saturday at a spice shop known to openly discriminate against Republicans while calling for an end to political “divison.”
The spice shop, Penzeys Spices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, welcomed the Democrat nominee to browse the store and meet some supporters.
While facing a gaggle of reporters, Harris claimed, “It’s time to turn the page on the divisiveness. It’s time to bring our country together, chart a new way forward.”
“A lot of what I think is happening, and I was just talking with some folks here in Pittsburgh about it, is that people are exhausted about the division and the attempts to kind of divide us as Americans,” said Harris. “And, them stepping up to make this public statement, I think is, courageous.”
We are definitely exhausted by the division. But we are also extremely tired of the gaslighting and hypocrisy that Kamala, her campaign, and the media are peddling.
You see, the owners of Penzeys Spices went full TDS in 2016 and have kept banging the ‘we hate Republicans!’ drum ever since. The owners dislike Republicans so much that their website literally has an “About Republicans” tab that, when you click on it, has a nearly 900 word diatribe presented for your reading pleasure.
It’s an entire, we want your business, but we are here to tell you that your politics (R) are the ruination of this country because REASONS.
The truth of our time is we’ve arrived at the point where there’s no way to respect the nonsense the Republican Party is promoting and have any hope of overcoming the problems we as a nation and we as a planet face. Given the choice between saving America and planet Earth or saving the feelings of Republican voters, we are choosing to side with saving our country and our world. I’m sorry it’s come to this.
And no, there is no HATE!!! in any of this. There is a whole lot of propaganda at the heart of much of how Republican voters have been steered away from conservative values to what they now seem all too happy to vote for. The thing to remember about propaganda is that it doesn’t just misinform, it also works to make people immune from the truth by convincing them any facts that counter their propaganda are nothing more than HATE!!! But we really have no hate for Republican voters. None at all.
Nope, no hate whatsoever. No unity either. The owners of Penzeys Spices promote their wares through social media, and 98% of the ads they run have some type of anti-Republican slam written into their promotion.
But sure! Let’s have Kamala stand inside a store whose company is well-known for their TDS and Republican hatred and issue a call for unity while comforting a wailing woman.

The media, of course, took the opportunity to ask Kamala key questions about the issues and perhaps give us an explanation of what an “opportunity economy” really means.

There is that at least. I mean, what would we do without suggestions of seasonings to use for dressing up those word salads? We would be totally bereft of feeling that oh so important unity vibe!
Just this weekend in Pittsburgh we saw the power of this New Journalism on display. The stodgy old, and let’s face it, mostly white dudes of newspapers past might have been focused on Hersch Goldberg-Polin, the American murdered by Hamas, or this week’s disappointing job numbers.

Tim Walz loves ‘white guy’ tacos, apple cider donuts, and pork chops on a stick. Would-be first gentleman Doug Emhoff likes to eat pretzels at night, in fact, a few more than Kamala would prefer. Talk about a scoop!
And while Harris won’t answer questions about domestic or foreign policy, she loves Doritos and her recipe for bathtub collard greens is right out there, thanks to her press pool, for anyone to make at home and judge for themselves. That’s transparency!
But it isn’t just print journalists changing coverage for the better. The ‘folx’ with cameras and microphones are breaking new ground with their unique approach of not asking any questions and pretending that they are filming a Bat Mitzvah.
Kamala can yuck it up about unity and blather about divisiveness, and most of the media is just standing there applauding like trained seals. There are a few, such as David above or Salena Zito who refuse to play that game.

Yes, that showboating in Penzeys while talking about unity was a deliberate choice.
The hypocrisy is deep and wide with Kamala and it’s supported by a willfully blind media.

As to Kamala sleeping her way to the top, that’s not a trope, it’s fact. The fact that you don’t like it is irrelevant. She was a DEI hire through and through. She dropped out of the presidential primary without winning a single elector because she was so terrible a candidate, and Joe made it clear that he would choose a “woman of color”. No other qualifications needed, just those demographics, and look who we got.

1) Tropes are mostly tropes because of their proximity to truth. Which doesn’t make the accusation correct.
