The Drug Boat: Terrorists Or Not Terrorists?

Many a family of an addict may be celebrating a drug boat from Venezuela being blasted out of the water but for the writers at Salon, this is just one more thing that makes the Orange Man bad.

Heather Digby Parton says we’re entering “dangerous waters”. We’re in grave danger here. World War II-type danger.

America has never been even close to perfect, a fact the Trump administration is going to great lengths to obscure. They insist that any mention of the country’s flawed history demeans and ignores what it has done right, and therefore any failures must not be mentioned at all. In truth, President Donald Trump probably believes the simplified fables he learned as a boy in the 1950s — like George Washington and the cherry tree — are all anyone needs to know about American history. The consequences of this ignorance are putting the country, and the entire world, in grave danger.”-Heather Digby Parton, Salon

America will never be 100% perfect. I know it may come as a surprise to some, but we have a bunch of flawed people who live here. And, like everyone else on Earth, our President isn’t perfect. But I do find it amusing the TDS-ridden writers at Salon think Trump is an complete ignoramus after they propped up a human vegetable for four years, calling this human vegetable an “expert” in foreign policy. They’ve also voted for an inept, cackling moron last November. Regardless, Heather shows us how much she knows about history because, after all, she’s of “the party of education“. She gives readers a brief history lesson on Vietnam and post 9/11 and how we were “lied into war”. She suggests blowing up a Venezuelan boat carrying drugs is Trump’s lie that will lead us to war.

Over the last few weeks, the Defense Department has been deploying warships off the coast of Venezuela as part of an anti-drug-trafficking mobilization. The situation is serious; analysts recently told the BBC that ‘the risk of escalation in the region is growing by the day.'”-Heather Digby Parton, Salon

You mean The Department of Defense, Heather? Go on…

The War on Drugs has always been a metaphor, not a real military conflict. Over the years, the U.S. government has authorized covert actions, but officially it’s always been a law enforcement issue in which the Coast Guard arrests suspected drug runners and turns them over to the authorities. Defending the administration’s actions in the Caribbean, Secretary of State Marco Rubio told the press this week that such deterrents haven’t worked. ‘What will stop them is when you blow them up,’ he said. ‘Instead of interdicting it, on the president’s orders, we blew it up. And it’ll happen again. Maybe it’s happening right now.'”-Heather Digby Parton, Salon

Law enforcement whom they hate. They wanted them to lose their jobs and wanted to abolish law enforcement. They were not successful but the fact remains that law enforcement on drug-ridden streets of our Blue cities are not able to do much of anything but continue to let addicts live in squalor. Dealers get sprung. It’s an ongoing, unproductive mess.

A metaphor.

A metaphor.

But lefties are still going to leftie and side with the “poor 11 souls” who got blown to smithereens. C’mon, man. They were just guys on a boat. Trying to ferry some Fent whilst listening to some Yacht Rock on a sunny Caribbean day on the high seas.

Blowing up alleged drug traffickers in the waters off of Venezuela and saying they’re invading the United States is ridiculous.”-Heather Digby Parton, Salon

Is it ridiculous, though? You know what’s ridiculous? These city liberals who completely ignore the very desperation and destruction of human life that is happening all around them. They can’t seem to do the math, here.

And it’s not just the big cities who suffer the impact. Drug addiction is also alive and well in the suburbs and small towns. On a community page I belong to, a member was concerned about the tent encampments that have been popping up outside of shopping centers and schools in our area of town. Many in these encampments are battling addiction. We know the only cure to addiction is rehab. Liberals here in my state of Washington largely ignore the epidemic of addiction and the very impact these drugs have on these men and women. They ignore the facts that not only is an addict held hostage by their addiction, but their families suffer as well. The very policies if this state enable addicts. No family member is going to be at ease that their heroin-addicted son is getting clean needles to inject more poison into his veins because they know, at any point in time when his desperate for a fix, he will take any needle he can get. So, yes, addiction should NOT be an option. I had a liberal argue with me just the other day about this online, saying my “rehab cannot be an option” comment was “cruel and inhumane”. That forcing someone to go to treatment was a terrible idea and in violation of their “rights” and therefore, not productive. By this “logic”, I guess it is perfectly okay for addicts to kill themselves by the poison of their choosing. These people, who are so out-of-touch with reality, would rather see these human beings who are entitled to a better life, be “home free”, live in trash and kill themselves. This is how much the left cares about people.

And, for those with a platform like Salon, they’d rather split hairs and talk about how Trump is going send us into World War III for blowing up a drug boat with the aim to destroy more lives.

We knew exactly who was in that boat, we knew exactly what they were doing, and we knew exactly who they represented, and that was Tren de Aragua … trying to poison our country with illicit drugs.”=Pete Hegseth

As a person who had an uncle die of a drug overdose, I watched my cousins grow up without a father. I saw the heartache it caused our family. I’ve experienced addiction in my own way with my father who took up gambling as his vice and threw away his retirement and then some. Granted, it wasn’t drugs but addiction is very real. It destroys lives. It is a form of terror. This would make the drug-carrying guys on a boat, terrorists.

The only way to fight this life-destructive force aside of the individual addict going to rehab is to cut off and, yes, obliterate those bringing the drugs into this country. I, for one, was happy to see the drug boat and the scum in it permanently deleted off the face of this earth. Because of this, maybe an addict gets out of the grips of addiction and gets to see his kids grow up. Maybe the mother who worries every night about her daughter on the streets doesn’t get that terrifying phone call at 3am. We’re not talking in metaphor here. We’re talking about real people. In real America. And, yes. We are at war with these evildoers and the principalities and ideologies that protect them and it’s time to stop playing nice. So, yeah. I think blowing up any boat carrying narcotics to us or Mexico-or anywhere else for that matter-is a thing of beauty.

As far as we can see, the only ones entering the (shiver) dangerous waters here are the Narco-terrorists on these drug boats. I say bring it on. Let’s blast all of these lowlifes into oblivion.

I don’t care if it was narco terrorists or a boatload of American Dads. We have a border and a President willing to protect it. If this causes people to change their minds about breaking in, the sacrifice is just fine with me.

Salon, aka Spitoon, is still spewing? The US killed some criminals/terrorists who are killing US citizens. Good.

President Trump playing the video of the strike was a message to Madero, and all of the drug cartel lords.

A Cig Boat takes 3 or 4 men to operate in open water. Given about a 24 hour trip from the north coast of South America to the US Gulf Coast, maybe 6 crew members were needed. There were 11 on board. Who was going to be delivered when the drugs were smuggled in is unknown. But, Madero has reacted in a panic mode.

The “experts” who operated the Biden autopen are no longer in charge. Actions showing “hostile intent” (phrase from military Rules on the Use of Force) will have consequences, since when hostile intent is shown, lethal force is authorized. The days of tolerating asymmetrical warfare are past.

It being that I’m a Starboard side 1950s boy, I find Heather Digby Parton’s Port Side explanation of why Orange Man Bad that of the incoherent Haughty beech she is and she/they/them can blow it out her Stern.

Unlike Ms. Parton, even the Obama administration recognized that “due process” is not the same thing as judicial process. See remarks of then-Attorney General Holder at Northwestern University School of Law (March 5, 2012) https://www.justice.gov/archives/opa/speech/attorney-general-eric-holder-speaks-northwestern-university-school-law

The constitutional doctrine of due process means that process a person is due under the applicable substantive law. Contrary to what people such as Ms. Parton (in their ignorance) believe, it does not necessarily mean getting the chance to go to court. Even if they offer to surrender, the offer does not have to be accepted.

As I noted, President Trump sent Madero and the drug cartel lords a message. FAFO now means that the consequences for smuggling deadly drugs may be lethal.

Every piper cub, other small plane that flies over our borders without a bonafide flight plan should be escorted to the nearest airstrip and searched. If it appears that the plane is used for drug running and/or human trafficking immediately deport the pilot and confiscate and or destroy the plane and drugs. Planes refusing to land should be shot down. Just as if it were a military invasion. Same with vehicle crossing the border, regardless of location.

We are losing around 100,000 a year to drug overdose. That is Civil War and WWII level of deaths. IT is a war.
