Stanford University Worked With DHS On 2020 Election Censorship

Per the House Judiciary last night, we find that Stanford University was heavily involved with DHS efforts to censor social media prior to the 2020 election.

New emails show officials at the Department of Homeland Security created a Stanford University “disinformation” group that censored Americans’ speech before the 2020 election, according to a House Judiciary Committee report exclusively obtained by The Post.

The House panel’s 103-page staff interim report says never-before-seen emails and internal communications were obtained from the group, known as the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP), and show how it worked with DHS’ Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to flag, suppress and remove online speech in coordination with big tech companies.

One of EIP’s founding partners — the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab — described CISA’s central role in the alleged censorship effort in a July 31, 2020, email.

“I know the Council has a number of efforts on broad policy around the elections, but we just set up an election integrity partnership at the request of DHS/CISA and are in weekly comms to debrief about disinfo,” the lab’s senior director Graham Brookie wrote.

The staff report says, “[T]he federal government and universities pressured social media companies to censor true information, jokes, and political opinions.

Let’s back up and read the above again. We were told REPEATEDLY in the run up to the 2020 Election Day that much of the information we weren’t allowed to see was Russian disinformation. The Hunter Biden laptop reporting was throttled completely because it too was Russian disinformation.

But now, in reading the above, we find out Stanford students were brought in to “help” censor anything the powers that be deemed wrong think and wrong speak. Which included OPINIONS. Therefore, our First Amendment right to free speech was arbitrarily taken away for political purposes.

Reading through the 103 page report is highly illuminating. It was a certain group of people, including several universities including Stanford, who gathered to decide which speech was allowed and what speech should be censored.

Can we say 1984??

Keep in mind, we’ve been writing about these censorship efforts since prior to the 2020 Election when the NY Post’s reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop was blatantly censored across all social media and media platforms for weeks.

Let’s not forget the Twitter files that we and many others reported on. However, the DHS censorship efforts and information about it have been brewing for well over a year. Remember Scary Poppins?

Then, earlier this fall, we find out that DHS completely believed they had the authority to engage in censorship.

New documents obtained through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests show that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) argued that the agency has authority in regulating “misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation” despite the disbandment of the agency’s highly criticized Disinformation Governance Board.

In heavily redacted memos obtained by Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFPF) and reviewed exclusively by Fox New Digital, the agency appeared to circulate ahead of the launch of the disinformation board justification that DHS has regulatory or statutory authority in the “the MDM Space” – short for “misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation.

Now, weeks later, in light of this new report, several at CISA/DHS are singing a different tune.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, CISA Executive Director Brandon Wales said the agency “does not and has never censored speech or facilitated censorship.”

“Every day, the men and women of CISA execute the agency’s mission of reducing risk to U.S. critical infrastructure in a way that protects Americans’ freedom of speech, civil rights, civil liberties, and privacy,” Wales said.

“In response to concerns from election officials of all parties regarding foreign influence operations and disinformation that may impact the security of election infrastructure, CISA mitigates the risk of disinformation by sharing information on election literacy and election security with the public and by amplifying the trusted voices of election officials across the nation,” he added.

Oh. OH REALLY? When opinions are censored ….that is definitely NOT protecting our freedom of speech.

This is just a partial list of those whose speech was throttled or fully censored by DHS/CISA and Stanford among others.

The report itself contains a multitude of emails documenting the censorship efforts. Furthermore, it also documents Stanford’s complete stonewalling of the investigation. If the university thought their work was on the up and up, why the stonewall?

It’s highly evident from the report, that all involved knew there were very real First Amendment legal issues at stake. Yet, they went ahead and engaged in an end-run around our First Amendment and Supreme Court rulings in order to run censorship-by-proxy. Tell me again who was engaged in election interference?

And our government betters from the local to the national level wonder why they are no longer trusted.

Until we bring back the gallows and kill funding to places like this, it won’t get better.

    Another idea:

Release the names of every single student that was involved in this. Let them justify their actions. And yes, let them lose their jobs over this. Because “Fuck you. War.”
