Senate fails to repeal Obamacare; Democrats now on record as dirty little liars

Last night, Mitch McConnell’s Obamacare repeal measure lost in the Senate in a vote strictly along party lines. Every single Republican voted yes, and every single Democrat voted no.

The Democratic majority in the Senate late Wednesday voted down a GOP measure to repeal the health care law. The vote was 47-51, largely along party lines.

Senate Republicans, who are unified in their desire to repeal the bill, have known all year they had virtually no chance to pass a repeal measure. But Republicans campaigned in the midterm elections on a promise to “repeal and replace” the law, and they have been eager to show they are trying to follow through on their promise. The Republican-led House passed a repeal bill last month.

The point of this vote was not to actually overturn Obamacare. It’s not exactly rocket science for one to figure out that the measure would fail. What this does is get every single Democrat on record supporting Obamacare. So-called moderate Democrats? Yeah, they don’t exist. Many Democrats went home during election season and inexplicably campaigned against Obamacare (which they themselves had voted for). Now, they’re proving that they’re a bunch of dirty little liars who will say and do anything to stay in office. They’ve also proved that not only will they lie to the American people, but that they do not care at all about the will of the constituents they claim to represent. After the drubbing that Democrats took just a few short months ago, you’d think that there would be a few of them who learned their lesson. But no. They’re putting everything into Obamacare, regardless of how much the American people don’t want it.

Mitch McConnell played this brilliantly. The fight to repeal Obamacare is far from over, and this vote has just given the GOP a useful tool to club over the heads of the every Democrat in the Senate in 2012. Americans need to ask themselves if they really want to be represented by a party filled with socialists who will blatantly lie to keep office and completely ignore the will of their constituents. If the answer is no, then the non-existent “moderate” Democrats need to go.

The 23 that are up for re-election 2012, have just soiled their own nests. Most of these Dems are from “Red States” and the people of these states will be — hopefully — giving these traitors the boot.

This is hilarious. Mitch McConnell has put the Democrats who voted for this into a real fix:

If any Donks had voted to repeal ObamaCare, they faced getting clobbered by their own leadership and the kooks in their own base. “Not one step back; traitors will be crushed!” The icing on the cake is that their votes would have embarrassed Obama to no end.

However, since they voted to retain ObamaCare, Donk senators are now in the unenviable position of having to explain why they support unconstitutional legislation thoroughly despised by most of the electorate. Furthermore, Donks must also accept the fact that the GOP will continuously beat them about the head and shoulders with their on-record vote all the way to November 2012.

In short, the Donks have displayed all the “party discipline” of lemmings hurtling off a cliff. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of guys. 😉

I found it funny that they are completely ignoring the court decision to void the whole law and continuing as if nothing has happened.

  • FINALLY! Someone else gets why this happened!

Alternate title: Twenty Four Democrats who are up for Reelection Throw Selves Under Bus.

Had four of these guys (of the 24 up in 2012, or of the 15 or so who won reelection in 2010 on the promise of working against Obama-Pelosi-Reid) joined the Republicans, Obama would have had to veto, and would lose in 2012. Plain and simple, forcing Obama into doubling down on this would kill any chances he has of winning again, because his “running to the right” would be seen for the b.s. it is. So thanks for throwing yourselves under the bus, guys!

But now we have 24 albatrosses. Twenty-four Senators will have this hung around their necks in 2012. “You don’t want to repeal and replace; you voted against repeal. You voted for ObamaCare, once not knowing, then again, knowing how bad it was.”

I can hear the campaign ads being made. I can sense people all over 24 different states, waking up, and thinking, “I could be Senator. Let me fight one of these people.” Throughout half the country, people are going to candidate’s schools, learning to run, figuring out how to get a campaign going, and are gearing up to challenge these SOBs. Fuel in the fire, baby.

I hope McConnell brings this up, over and over and over again.

    Keep putting them on record.
