Everyone, you have permission to enjoy the schadenfreude at the expense of one of the most obnoxious politicians in California, Adam Schiff.
The present representative and current candidate for Senate was going to be attending a fundraiser in San Francisco on Thursday evening. Apparently, Schiff has the Democrat party rosy view of San Francisco, where the bad things only happen to the peasants. NOT to those “important” people like him, who live in a bubble and go on TV and have all the correct progressive views, and hate the Bad Orange Man.
Well, San Francisco decided to teach Adam Schiff a lesson on why you don’t leave anything of value in your car – even in a parking garage. Schiff was apparently in a rush, and left his luggage in the car. This, everyone, was a mistake.
Hello to the city, goodbye to your luggage. That was Senatorial candidate Adam Schiff’s rude introduction to San Francisco’s vexing reputation for car burglaries Thursday when thieves swiped the bags from his car while it sat in a downtown parking garage.
The heist meant the Democratic congressman got stuck at a fancy dinner party in his shirt sleeves and a hiking vest while everyone else sat in suits. Not quite the look the man from Burbank was aiming for as he rose to thank powerhouse attorney Joe Cotchett for his support in his bid to replace the late Dianne Feinstein in the U.S. Senate.
“I guess it’s ‘Welcome to San Francisco,’ ” Cotchett’s press agent Lee Houskeeper, who was at the dinner, remarked dryly.
Schiff’s car had been parked in the garage while he visited the area for a couple of days of appearances, which included a jaunt south to Burlingame for the dinner at Ristorante Rocca.
Cotchett said Schiff was unruffled by the kerfuffle, and carried on as though everything was fine.“Adam really showed himself tonight,” Cotchett said. “He’ll be a great senator — he’s going to change the Senate tremendously.”
The congressman told the Chronicle he didn’t want to dwell on his nasty turn of luck.
“Yes, they took my bags,” he said calmly. “But I’m here to thank Joe.”
The congressman told Houskeeper he’d been warned to not leave anything in the car, but apparently he was in a hurry and didn’t want to be late, the press agent said.
Now, despite the city’s efforts to clean up, San Francisco does indeed still have a huge problem with car break-ins and robberies. Most famously, the popular YouTuber and engineer Mark Rober has made an example of just how quickly these smash-and-grabs happen by planting items in sight in “bait cars” and filming the aftermath. Everyone knows that leaving luggage in a car – even in a trunk – is a risk in most major cities, and certainly in San Francisco.
On that note, does anyone know the whereabouts of former Biden energy official Sam Brinton? (I kid, he only likes fancy dresses.)
What does surprise me isn’t Schiff’s reaction (what is he going to do, CRITICIZE San Francisco for having a crime problem?) to being robbed, but his solution to the problem. He then went to the fancy fundraiser in “shirt sleeves and a hiking vest,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle. First of all, I don’t think Adam Schiff would know a hiking trail if he tripped over one. Second, there was no chance to replace his suit – or at least buy an off-the-rack sports jacket? (Is there any place left to go in San Francisco to find a replacement suit at short notice? Or is Schiff so fancy that his stuff must be high end and custom tailored before he will deign to wear it?)
Schiff had to have known that this little tidbit would get picked up by the media – did he not care, or does he truly think it wasn’t a big deal to have his luggage stolen? Yes, he will probably write off the replacement luggage and clothes as a campaign expense. But are we supposed to be impressed that he was dumb enough to leave his luggage in the car, and then impressed again that he showed up at his own dinner looking underdressed?
Yes, in the grand scheme of things, this is truly not a big deal to someone like Adam Schiff, who won’t have to deal with insurance claims and actually paying to replace a car window, missing suitcases, and buying new clothes to wear. It IS a big deal to the average person in San Francisco when they have to deal with car break-ins, who don’t have campaign funds to dip into and staff to handle the details. It would be a good thing if Schiff acknowledged that these crimes are a financial and emotional drain on the citizens of San Francisco – but that would mean acknowledging, however tacitly, that the city has a crime problem.
Democrats across California know there is a crime problem, and recently some of them have been on the receiving end of those crimes.
California politicians are finally facing the ramifications of their pro-crime policies:
LA Mayor Karen Bass was robbed on the weekend. It was the 2nd time in 2 years.
Yesterday, San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan's security detail was attacked on a live TV interview.
In October,…

In October, Oakland DA Pamela Price got burglarized and didn’t receive any police assistance.
California Governor Gavin Newsom and California Senator Boxer (D) were both ambushed and assauIted in Oakland.
And the reasons these stories don’t get more play outside of local news is because the politicians themselves – Democrats all – don’t want the coverage. They might be the victims, but they know that this is the end result of the policies they have supported. Reality bites when the bubble gets popped. Not that I expect that Adam Schiff will actually learn anything, except to not leave his suitcase in his car. He will just make doubly sure someone on his staff gets it from the car for him next time he vists San Francisco.

That dude is a piece of Schiff… At least he looks the part.. and that smarmy ass Crotchett… are his constituents actually stupid enough to believe that drivel, or does he just think they are??? If they have two brain cells to rub together, they should be offended by his comments.. The only thing he said that might be true is that lil’ol Adam will change the senate if elected.. thing is it damn sure won’t be for the better…
OOh, and I meant to say that I doubt seriously that Schiff learned a damn thing, I think that’s well beyond his capabilities..
