Yesterday, the midst of the Joe Biden turmoil, the House brought the SAVE Act to the floor. 198 Democrats voted in favor of allowing illegals the right to vote.
đ¨ #BREAKING: The US House has PASSED the SAVE Act, which would require proof of citizenship to vote.

This is a NO BRAINER.
However, practically EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT voted against this measure, as if they want illegals to vote.
WHY? pic.twitter.com/vXKXoFMWfz
The SAVE Act essentially requires proof of U.S. citizenship before anyone can register to vote. Sounds simple doesn’t it? In fact, many countries require ID to be shown when citizens register and show up to vote. Yet many states here in the U.S. (Colorado for example) don’t require proof of citizenship to register to vote. Apply for a drivers license? Check that handy dandy little box that registers you to vote. Easy peasy!Â
Welfare offices and other agencies in at least 46 US states are providing voter registration forms to migrants without requiring proof of citizenship, leading Republicans and conservatives to call for swift federal action to stop the handouts.
Every state but North Dakota, New Hampshire, Wisconsin and Wyoming gives applicants for either welfare benefits, driverâs licenses, or in some cases, mail-in ballots federal voter registration forms without demanding proof of citizenship.
There is currently no requirement on federal voting forms to provide proof of US citizenship, though it is illegal to falsely claim one is a citizen or for a non-citizen to cast a ballot in a federal election.
But millions of migrants with humanitarian parole, refugee or asylum status are eligible for benefits that would bring them to the offices where voter registration takes place.
Democrats insist that our election process is totally secure and no one can mess with the mail-in ballots. As I’ve noted before, during this last election cycle, my husband ended up with TWO ballots. So much for security.Â
The 198 Democrats against the SAVE Act have argued that requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote will prevent American citizens from voting.
At this point, some on the right might argue that the Save Act is worthwhile anyway. Sure, non-citizens are already prohibited from voting in federal elections, and yes, evidence of non-citizens casting ballots is nearly impossible to find, but maybe thereâs no harm in simply passing the legislation anyway? Just to be safe?
Except, thatâs wrong, too, because the legislation would add a new and entirely unnecessary hurdle for Americans who want to participate in their own countryâs elections. As House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries explained during the floor debate, â[T]his extreme MAGA Republican voter suppression bill is not designed to solve any problem on behalf of the American people. It is designed to jam people up and prevent Americans from voting.â
First, those Americans who don’t vote made the choice to not show up at the polls or fill in that ballot sitting on their kitchen counter. Secondly, there are well-documented incidents where non-citizens have voted. Third, non-citizens are allowed to vote in local elections.Â
In a first, noncitizens are voting in D.C. Hereâs what it means to them.https://t.co/1IcyuKSRdy

Furthermore, even as current federal law prevents non-citizens from voting, when REGISTERING to vote, proof of citizenship isn’t required. That’s part of what the SAVE Act intended to remedy.Â
And 198 Democrats voted against that. Keep in mind, many of these Democrats are also the ones who want to give felons and 16-year olds the right to vote.Â
The Biden Administration definitely doesn’t want the SAVE Act passed. Joe will veto it if it manages to make it through the Senate (which it likely won’t at this juncture), and laughably claims that illegals who vote in the federal elections get deported.Â
The Administration strongly opposes H.R. 8281, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act. It is already illegal for noncitizens to vote in Federal electionsâit is a Federal crime punishable by prison and fines. The alleged justification for this bill is based on easily disproven falsehoods. Additionally, making a false claim of citizenship or unlawfully voting in an election is punishable by removal from the United States and a permanent bar to admission. States already have effective safeguards in place to verify votersâ eligibility and maintain the accuracy of voter rolls. This bill would do nothing to safeguard our elections, but it would make it much harder for all eligible Americans to register to vote and increase the risk that eligible voters are purged from voter rolls. The evidence is clear that the current laws to prevent noncitizen voting are working as intendedâit is extraordinarily rare for noncitizens to break the law by voting in Federal elections.
Over ten million people are now in this country illegally. The Biden Administration has deported a minuscule number, some of whom have returned and committed heinous crimes. Moreover, let’s not forget Joe’s amnesty plan that is shamefully pandering for votes. So don’t try and tell me that anyone caught voting illegally is going to get the boot.Â
Furthermore, I’ll say it again. The ONLY thing stopping people from registering to vote is they themselves. No one else. And the entire Jim Crow thing is absolutely aside.
A VA Democrat using Jim Crow to shame Americans who believe only legal citizens should vote in our elections.

So Democrats can stick those talking points where the sun doesn’t shine.Â
198 Democrats voted against the SAVE Act. Speaks volumes doesn’t it?

She isn’t aware that Jim Crow was entirely a Democrat policy?
She isnât aware of many things.
Another site showed an image of Arizona voter registration instructions, which stated that “if the voter does not have proof of US citizenship, they will only be allowed to vote in Federal elections, by a “Federal Only” ballot.
