She’s not wrong. Every time one scintilla of common sense in the government shows up, the Biden Administration doubles down on the crazy. And we were definitely treated to that tonight during the State of the Union speech.
Republican congressional leaders Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell announced earlier this month that Sanders would give the response for their party to the State of the Union.
McConnell said in a statement, “Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is the youngest Governor in the nation and a powerful advocate for the popular, commonsense conservative principles that will put our country back on a better course.”
McCarthy called Sanders “a servant-leader of true determination and conviction,” in a statement and said that she will share a “bold vision for a better America on Tuesday. Everyone, including President Biden, should listen carefully.”
She is a powerful advocate for her state and someone we should all consider listening to. And, she’s not wrong for getting rid of the term Latinx across the government. It’s a progressive term that the vast majority of Hispanics think is a load of crap. Furthermore, she’s not wrong in getting rid of the divisive CRT that is permeating our schools, colleges, and government entities.
But you see, SHE’S the crazy one for not wanting our country to inundated with illegals through a wide open border. SHE’S the crazy one for wanting to protect our children from the dangerous gender and transgender craze. The spin is at work.
In one of her first acts as governor, Sanders garnered national attention for a directive banning the term Latinx across the Arkansas government. In her Tuesday response, Sanders similarly waded into culture war subjects that have animated conservatives in the Biden years, inveighing against “false idols” of the left and other conservative punching bags.
Yes, the spin is really in. Because Trump!
The selection of Sanders as the face of the Republican Party on what is one of the most significant political events of the year signals the GOP’s continued embrace of Trump. For nearly two years, Sanders was Trump’s chief spokesperson, sparring with reporters over his policies and rhetoric. She also acknowledged having provided false information in his defense.
The politician selected to give the partisan rebuttal to the State of the Union is seen as a rising star in the party. In choosing Sanders, who at 40 is the youngest governor in the country, Republicans are indicating that her brand of confrontational cultural conservatism represents the future of their party — and that deep ties to Trump are not viewed as a detriment even as the party has signaled a desire to move past him.
Quite frankly, there are a LOT of people who have moved on from Trump. What we haven’t, won’t, and shouldn’t move on from is the crazy that the left is attempting to shove down our throats. Which was on full display at tonight’s State of the Union with Grandpa ‘whisper shout’ Biden.
This is correct. https://t.co/XVMBnDwuHY

Yes, there are many MANY issues that we all have to deal with in this country. Inflation, an incredibly insecure foreign policy, a border that is non-existent, and a feckless rudderless Administration that choses to embrace woke policies and economy killing climate change. Yet they ALSO want to shove their chosen fringe culture war down our throats to the detriment of this Republic.
Sarah is absolutely correct here. We have an Administration operating on the crazy train instead of SERVING the people.
Remember this quote from her speech and apply it to everything you see and here from all in the Biden Administration going forward.
“The government exists not to RULE the people but to SERVE the people”

Who knows what the electorate will do in 2024 (that’s a rhetorical question). What I do know is that a far right fringe of the electorate “lives and breathes” the current “woke” phenomena. She clearly was speaking to that fringe of the electorate. I’m guessing to rile them up like a wasp next being hit (which doesn’t take much). The republican party has no vision other than to diminish, demoralize, ostracize, and attack “the woke mob.” Cultural issues play well in solidly red states but not in those important states that are purple and surely not blue states.
It’s confusing what the conservative/republican long-term plan is … further creating division, not laying out a plan to address the nation’s problems (which have gone on for generations no matter who sits in the White House … immigration, deficit, healthcare, policing, social security/medicare and the list goes on)? That’s all Ms. Sanders did the other night … fan the flames.
Without having a magic ball to predict the future, the best way to do that is by looking at history … and recent history shows up “going all in” on “wokeness” didn’t play well in 2022 and it most likely won’t play well in 2024.
I do concede on thing … “Which was on full display at tonight’s State of the Union with Grandpa ‘whisper shout’ Biden.” It’s funny to see Biden get all hyped up about something and then gets close to the mic and “whispers” what apparently is a secret? A discovered rationale? An obvious fact? Sarcasm? Who knows. It’s an odd communication characteristic.
Sanders response to Foggy Joe’s address was spot on….Her comments were, indeed, normal….not crazy! Difficult to imagine any sane American agreeing with Biden’s crazy state of the union. .
One of the best speeches I’ve heard in a very long time. It’s sad to say, but what she said is true. Every bit of it. I admire her courage and conviction. We need many more like her in our government. Not just federal, but also state and local.
