Samantha Bee went back on her show last night, in her network-ordered apology tour. “Sorry not sorry” seems to be her new theme.
You be the judge.

“Hi, I’m Samantha Bee. You know, a lot of people were offended and angry that I used an epithet to describe the president’s daughter last week. It is a word I have used on the show many times trying to reclaim it. This time I used it as an insult. I crossed the line. I regret it and I do apologize for that. The problem is that many women have been called that at the worst time in their lives. A lot of them don’t want that word reclaimed. They want it gone. I don’t want to inflict more pain on them. I want this show to be challenging and I want it to be honest but I never intended it to hurt anyone. Except Ted Cruz.
Many men were also offended by my use of the word. I do not care about that. I hate that this distracted from more important issues. I hate that I did something to contribute to the nightmare of 24-hour news cycles that we’re all white-knuckling through. I should have known that a potty-mouthed insult would be inherently more interesting to them than juvenile immigration policy. I would do anything to help those kids. I hate that this distracted from them and so to them, I am also sorry.
And look if you are worried about the death of civility, don’t sweat it. I’m a comedian people who hone their voices in basement bars while yelling back at drunk hecklers are definitely not paragons of civility. I am really sorry that I said that word, but you know what? Civility is just nice words. Maybe we should all worry a little bit more about the niceness of our actions.”
Given her attempts at apology early on, I’m pretty sure that this was a crowdsourced apology that was just as scripted as the original vulgarity.
Let’s just say that many were not exactly on board with the apology.

Congrats on diminishing the C word to just another word that has no value because when a woman calls another woman on national tv that she does a grave injustice to all women. Stay tolerant leftists, you're showing your intolerable colors in real time.

Summary-
“I’m super sorry to women who hate that word cause it conjures up horrific memories of being called that word but also words don’t mean anything so I guess I’m sorry that you were offended by something that doesn’t matter and also I’m a comedian”— Justin Holcomb (@JustinLHolcomb) June 7, 2018
The I-called-someone-a-c*nt-on-TV feminist publicity tour is so lit.

It's exhausting when someone takes a lecture and packages it as an "apology". "I said this and maybe it was wrong for me to say it but I did it because all of YOU are such terrible people, so there." is getting really old.

Samantha Bee is really sorry that she read that pre-written line on her produced show last week.

Did Sam Bee and her genius writing team sit down and just go “Hey what’s the one way to make this situation worse?” Her apology was basically for journos who watch her show. It was the SNL of apologies

Sam Bee is basically a really horrible person straight to her core so now that’s settled and we can all move on.

A few notes on this “apology” bit…
1) I don’t understand the fascination with Ted Cruz. I checked Ted Cruz’s Twitter feed and did a quick online search. Apparently, he made no comment about Bee’s on-air vulgarity. I guess someone lives rent-free in Sam’s head.
2) Note to Samantha Bee’s audience – she does apparently not care about what her male fans think. So much for being “woke,” guys.
3) “Reclaim” the word c**t. Suuuuuuuure.
4) Samantha Bee “would do anything to help those kids.” Open your checkbook, then, and promote a worthy charity that would actually support the children you claim to care about. Money, mouth, you know the drill.
5) “I’m a comedian” is not a legitimate defense when you’re not funny.
6) Ben Shapiro is right – the fact that Samantha Bee is still on the air says more about the quality of her fan base than about herself. She gets to still have a show because of the studio audience’s whooping and hollering when she first delivered the scripted line. Sponsors, though….
Despite several apologies for a recent controversy, advertisers seemed wary of appearing in this week's broadcast of Samantha Bee's "Full Frontal."

7) The words “I apologize to Ivanka Trump” never appear in this “apology.” She doesn’t even say Ivanka’s name. She only refers to “the president’s daughter.” She’s apologizing to the women who were upset and offended by her use of that slur, but not to Ivanka herself. So, it’s not an apology to the person she actually insulted. Which means it’s not much of an apology.
Samantha Bee will keep her show (so long as she can get sponsors to stay on), and her fans will continue to lap her brand of “comedy” up. Those who watch her show already know what kind of person she is. And now we know what kind of “comedian” they will accept.
“It is a word I have used on the show many times trying to reclaim it. ”
Consider it reclaimed, Samantha.
It’s all yours. You own it.
I can honestly say that whenever I think of you from now on, it will be the first word that comes to my mind.
Which adds one more reason to why I will try very hard not to think of you, from now on.
