In response to President Donald Trump’s vow to “dominate the streets”, Anderson Cooper, of CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, featured Lt. General Russel Honore, U.S. Army (ret.). General Honore believes that the legislative branch of government must put controls on President Trump or the President may use nuclear weapons on American citizens in the streets.
In case you have forgotten, Lt. General Russel Honore was THE hero of Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005. When Hurricane Rita bore down on the South one month later, General Honore made his “Don’t get stuck on stupid.” comment and became a legend of straight talk in the United States. He looked the part in his Army Combat Uniform and aviator sunglasses.
That was fifteen years ago. Since then Russel Honore has become an environmental warrior and frequent Trump critic. General Honore has called President Trump an S.O.B. who rides around in Air Force One and doesn’t give a damn about poor people or people of color. Here is the General saying exactly that:
That was 2017 and the General didn’t care for Trump’s response to the people of Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria.
Now, the United States is in flames because of the police murder of George Floyd. Does Russel Honore blame the outside groups who don’t give a fig about George Floyd? The outside groups who only desire to fan the flames of hatred and tear the fabric of our Nation? No. Apparently, General Honore has Post-traumatic Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Yesterday, in a conference call with Governors, President Trump and A.G. Barr told the State Governors to “dominate the streets”. Here is the ABC report on the conference call:
In a call with the nation’s governors Monday, an angry President Donald Trump told state leaders they must “dominate” out-of-control protests, calling on law enforcement to get “much tougher” and blaming unrest erupting across many communities squarely on “the radical left.”
The president and Attorney General William Barr used the word “dominate” nearly a dozen times in describing how law enforcement should posture themselves.
Dominating the battlefield is a military tactic with which Russel Honore should be intimately familiar. Our streets are under siege, not from those protesting police brutality, but from various hate groups like antifa. So, the General went on Anderson Cooper 360 and bashed Donald Trump:
CNN brings an ex-military official on who suggests Trump may use nuclear weapons on U.S. cities to stop the violent riots: “Our troops need to stand steady. The Congress and the Senate need to understand, this man has control of over 3,000 nuclear weapons…”

General Honore is not worried about the lives and livelihoods being destroyed in the riots. No. He is worried about President Trump dropping a nuclear warhead on New York City or calling the the Seventh Fleet into Minneapolis. Really. You can’t make this up. And, Anderson Cooper just sits there, practically drooling.
My son reminds me occasionally that all heroes have feet of clay. Russel Honore is just another in a long line. And yet, I live in hope.

Despite his wise words (around Katrina), I got the impression Gen Honore was a bit full of himself. His clay may run a bit higher than his feet.
Maybe he and Swalwell could form a presidential ticket together.
You are forgetting that Donald Trump left behind 200 nuclear weapons in Turkey.
We are discussing a POTUS with severe mental problems.
Living in Louisiana and knowing the man I have nothing but the highest respect for Russel Honore.
I understand our general is contemplating a Senate run.
He sounds like “General Jack D. Ripper” from the film “Dr. Strangelove”.
I think the good General may have a belt slipping.
Cack-sackers all.
Someone’s projecting, considering that Rep. Eric ‘Oral-B’ Swallwell was threatening to do exactly that to gun owners.

Please put down the crack pipe, it’s not doing you any good!
“Left behind”? Huh?
We haven’t left Turkey.
