Political Imprisonment Of Dianne Feinstein

Dianne Feinstein returned to the Senate in a wheelchair following a three month battle with Shingles. At the risk of being ableist or ageist, the woman looks God-bloody awful even for 89. There are stories of complications from her illness that raise questions of her ability to serve. There are also stories of her alleged political imprisonment as Governor Gavin Newsome and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi run out the clock for that Senate seat.

Just in case, you haven’t been keeping up with the DiFi story, Nina has the details for you here. Shingles is no laughing matter at any age, and a super-elderly person would not fare well. When Feinstein returned to the Senate, looked out of it.

Mother of Pearl! Dianne Feinstein looked bad even for 89. And then came the elevator interview where she didn’t know that she had been away from the Senate:

No, she has been in D.C. working. To quote DiFi “know or don’t know”:

When asked about her recovery Tuesday, Feinstein insisted she had never left the nation’s capital.
“No, I haven’t been gone,” she told reporters. “You should follow the — I haven’t been gone. I’ve been working.”
Asked for clarification about whether she had been working from home, Feinstein replied, “No, I’ve been here. I’ve been voting. Please. You either know or don’t know.”

Once you know the truth about her illness(es), it makes a lot more sense:

Sen. Dianne Feinstein suffered previously undisclosed complications from shingles
Feinstein, 89, had also suffered from Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which occurred when shingles spread to her head and neck, and a case of encephalitis, which is swelling of the brain, a person familiar with her situation said Thursday.
The New York Times first reported the previously undisclosed complications.
In brief appearances in the Capitol this week, Feinstein appeared to have paralysis on the left side of her face, a side effect of Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
A spokesperson for Feinstein later confirmed the complications.
“The senator previously disclosed that she had several complications related to her shingles diagnosis. As discussed in the New York Times article, those complications included Ramsay Hunt syndrome and encephalitis,” the spokesperson said in a statement Thursday night.
“While the encephalitis resolved itself shortly after she was released from the hospital in March, she continues to have complications from Ramsay Hunt syndrome,” the spokesperson said.

Feinstein has been missing a step for quite a while. She even forgot(??) about her own retirement announcement. Remember?

Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein of California contradicted herself on her own retirement, hours after her team put out a statement that she would not seek reelection.
The long-anticipated announcement came Tuesday on Feinstein’s Twitter page, saying that she will retire at the end of her current term after 30 years in Congress.
“I am announcing today I will not run for reelection in 2024 but intend to accomplish as much for California as I can through the end of next year when my term ends,” she said in a statement, which was tweeted at 1:50 p.m. ET.

But when asked about her retirement by reporters hours later, Feinstein, 89, did not seem to be aware that the statement was released.
When asked by Raw Story about finally retiring, Feinstein said, “Oh no, I’m not announcing anything” right now, adding that she “will one day.”

Forget DiFi. The players immediately began angling for that Senate seat. Orange County Representative fatuous Katie Porter wants the seat. The two powerhouse contenders are Rep. Barbara Lee of Oakland favored by Governor Hair Gel Newsom and Lil Adam Schiff who is a Nancy Pelosi acolyte. Here are the details on Lee and Newsom:

Newsom limited his options two years ago by promising to appoint a Black woman. There wasn’t — still isn’t — a Black female senator. The last one was California’s Kamala Harris, who left to become vice president.
Newsom could have replaced Harris with another Black woman, but instead chose a longtime ally, then-Secretary of State Alex Padilla. The governor’s subsequent promise was an effort to appease disappointed Black women, an important Democratic constituency.
It now would be politically untenable for Newsom to go back on his word, especially if he has national ambitions. Black politicians and voters may be relatively small in numbers, but they punch above their weight. Ask Biden which voting bloc rescued his presidential campaign in the 2020 primaries.
The most obvious choice for Newsom would be Rep. Barbara Lee, 76, of Oakland, who has 25 years of congressional experience. She’s a bit more liberal than Newsom and most Californians, but that wouldn’t be her main problem for the governor.
Lee is one of three major candidates in the 2024 Senate race. Her crowning with the title “senator” could be a significant campaign benefit. Newsom might consider it unfair to the two front-runners — Reps. Adam B. Schiff, 62, of Burbank and Katie Porter, 49, of Irvine — to give Lee a boost.
“What’s wrong with that? He’s committed or not committed” to gaining a Black female senator, says Aimee Allison, founder and president of She the People, an activist group that pushes for electing more women of color.
Allison supports Lee.
If Newsom passed up Lee and chose another Black woman who then ran for the office, it would conversely hurt Lee’s campaign. With two Black women competing, both their core bases would be divided. That risks angering Lee’s supporters, including Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

Oof! What a bunch of bean-counting maroons. The inside track though goes to Pelosi and Schiff. Pelosi has installed HER OWN daughter to keep Feinstein in her political imprisonment.

RadarOnline noticed too:

Nancy Pelosi’s daughter is reportedly shadowing Senator Dianne Feinstein upon the 89-year-old’s return to Washington, D.C., RadarOnline.com has learned.
Pelosi’s daughter, Nancy Corinne Prowda, was first spotted by Feinstein’s side last week as the aging Democratic politician returned to Capitol Hill following a monthslong absence as she recovered from shingles.

According to a statement Pelosi’s office gave to Politico, Prowda “has been supporting [Feinstein] in her shingles recovery” and that Prowda has been friends with the Feinstein family for “decades.”
Meanwhile, Feinstein’s office further confirmed that former House Speaker Pelosi’s 58-year-old daughter has “been spending time with the senator as she continues to recover from shingles” – although some critics have accused Pelosi of “seeking to influence” the 89-year-old senator’s future in the Senate.

Man, if only there were creativity in Hollywood. Two political factions battling over a Senate seat. The imprisonment of a failing and really elderly old power player. You don’t even need a screenwriter. A production company would just have to decide whether to write for tragedy or broad comedy.

I know that Mr. Blum, Dianne Feinstein’s second husband died over a year ago. I know that she has a daughter from her first marriage. Is there no one who care a jot about this lady. She has Nancy Pelosi’s daughter watching ghoulishly over her incarceration. Democrats are totally sick.

After Senator Palpatine’s treasonous activity with her ChiCom driver, I have no sympathy whatsoever for her… That being said, you are spot on about this being elder abuse, and her being totally unfit for office (seems like a qualifying factor for a dem these days)

Sick and evil. Doing anything to accrue and retain power, even at the expense of the Nation. Power and money is all they care about.

    Ghouls. Absolute ghouls.

No surprise here…The Biden administration is made up of freaks and forgetful elders, including Foggy Joe himself.

Apropos of the age thing, Barbara Lee is 76 y/o. If she gets in as a Senator she, too, will never leave.
