Despite the hysteria over the delta variant, and the blowback from the optics of having a big birthday party, the hubris of Barack Obama should never be underestimated.

Sure, they “scaled back” the party. Which makes you wonder what the original party plans looked like.

Just “friends and family.” Yeah, that pretty much included anyone that Obama wanted there. It was a roster of A-list Hollywood, because of course it was. They would never miss a chance to obey the summons of Barack Obama and show up to a birthday party of the elite. Just no cameras, please. And if you do post photos, you will be forced to remove them off social media. *Jedi hand wave* “You were never here…”

Rapper Trap Beckham and manager TJ Chapman discreetly snapped pics of the event’s high-end food, drink and swag offerings and talked to their followers as the party unfolded, according to screenshots of the posts, which were later deleted under the event’s photography ban.”

The recording artist and his handler posted themselves smoking cannabis — which is legal in Massachusetts.”

Snaps of the open bar showed bottles of top-shelf liquor and cigars, and s’mores cocktails garnished with melted marshmallows.”

“Had to delete everything due to the rules,” Beckham reportedly explained. “It was epic for sure. If any videos surface it’s going viral. He danced the whole time. Nobody ever seen Obama like this before.”

By 1 a.m., the “scaled-down” shindig had officially petered out, as throngs of famous guests and workers clogged the roads of small-town Oak Bluffs, creating a “s–t show” of traffic congestion on the resort island, police said.”

Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Jennifer Hudson, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Bradley Cooper, Don Cheadle, Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Bruce Springsteen, Erykah Badu, Steven Colbert and John Kerry were just some of the rumored celebrity guests at the seaside affair.”

However, once you release a photo or video to the wilds of the Internet, it never goes away.

Oops. Hmm. No wonder the guests were all ordered to delete photos. Can have the unmasked truth leaking out to the peasants, can we?

Now, the press would like to keep all of you away from the pretty and important people. After all, Obama and his “friends” are A-listers, and you of the unwashed masses? Ugh. Mask up, you superspreaders. So are they going to actually scold Obama for doing the thing that Anthony Fauci is tying himself in contradictatory knots over regarding Sturgis and Lollapalooza? Of course not. And if they are asked, there is always an excuse.

Annie Karni protested at Glenn Greenwald’s comments, saying that the “sophisticated crowd” was a direct quote from her story. Fine. But watch Jim Acosta’s reaction. “Oh, okay, that should be fine then,” rather than the frothing at the mouth that Acosta has for Florida, as you can see from his Twitter feed. Obama GOOD AND HOLY AND BLAMELESS, DeSantis BAD AND EVIL AND AT FAULT.

Back to the actual party. I stand by my first assessment – I don’t care that Obama had a big birthday party, or even that they were unmasked. What I do care about is the rest of us being told to wear masks, stay away from each other, put our lives on hold AGAIN for the delta variant, when the rich and elite get to do what they want because they are “sophisticated” (and then delete the pictures and videos). That’s the hypocrisy. That is unreasonable cover given to Obama by the media. That’s where we all need to draw the line. So yes, the finger needs to be pointed at Obama for “scaling back” when he probably didn’t scale back all that much, he just said it in hopes that the media would give him a pass. And we need to point a finger at the media, because they did give him a pass, because all those media types want to be on the invite list for the next party. So until the media is willing to treat Barack Obama the same way that they want to treat Sturgis, forget it.
