Raise your hand if you thought this day would never come. Robert Mueller is apparently DONE with his report.
The announcement came late this afternoon that the report was finished and about to be turned in to Attorney General William Barr.

Barr confirmed that he had the report, and sent a letter to Congress.

Several lawmakers, including Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., received a letter about the report’s drop. Graham is the chairman of Senate Judiciary Committee. Feinstein is the ranking member.’
“Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III has concluded his investigation of the Russian interference in the 2016 election and related matters,” the letter said.’
Barr also said that he “may be in a position to advise you of the Special Counsel’s principal conclusions as soon as this weekend.”
“Separately, I intend to consult with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Special Counsel Mueller to determine what other information from the report can be released to Congress and the public consistent with law, including the Special Counsel regulations, and the Department’s long-standing practices and policies,” it continued.”
It’s not clear how much, if any, of the report will be made public or provided to Congress. None of Mueller’s findings were immediately released.”
And now… we wait.

And we prepare for the flaming hot takes. Because even the Democrats have realized that they might have asked Santa for a pony, but all they might get is a Furby.

And now there are worries that President Trump might – gasp! – use the report AGAINST people!
Oh dear. Poor Democrats. They’ve been counting on Christmas for so long. But despite Mueller’s record of convictions…
Twenty six Russian nationals and three Russian companies have been charged with interfering in the 2016 presidential election.”
But none of the Trump associates connected to Trump have been charged with crimes related to collusion, though Mueller’s team charged former Trump associate Roger Stone in January with lying about his communications with WikiLeaks, which published hacked Democratic emails during the election.”
Other convictions include: former national security adviser Michael Flynn and former campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, who both pleaded guilty to making false statements in 2017.”
Former campaign adviser Rick Gates in 2018 pleaded guilty and former campaign chairman Paul Manafort was convicted and later pleaded guilty in a separate financial crimes case dating back before the 2016 election.”
Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to making false statements in a case brought by Mueller in November.”
Alex van der Zwaan, a London-based lawyer, pleaded guilty to making false statements this year, and Richard Pinedo, a California man, pleaded guilty to identity fraud in 2018.”
… he didn’t deliver on what was initially promised.
For those now trying to revise history – with very obvious motives – about what everyone agreed was the core purpose and objective of the Mueller investigation, here's the first paragraph of the NYT article reporting his appointment in 2017 https://t.co/wSC4NJYZKx pic.twitter.com/2TZsALPD6k

Who knows when – or if – the public will ever get a decent look at this report. The timing guarantees that this will dominate the news cycle all weekend, escalating into some kind of fever pitch as pundits speculate what is in it. The question is: what will happen when reality fails to measure up to the expectation?

FIFY
Trump might – gasp! – use the report AGAINST people
A lot of folks are wanting him to do so, if Twitter and other spots are any indication. They’re all hoping that there will be some consequences for all the people who pushed the false narrative for over two years now.
I wonder if Trump will take any cues from the Covington Boys lawyers?
lying about his communications with WikiLeaks
One of the lamest convictions, ever. “He lied to law enforcement.”
which published hacked Democratic emails during the election
If you can rightly call them “hacked”. C’mon, he gave them his email password.
Yeah, this thing is a giant nothingburger. And a lot of people should go down for it.
But they won’t. There won’t be a single lost job or any other serious consequence from any of this carp.
The majority of those “lying to law enforcement” items are highly suspect. The only “evidence” is the written notes of said law enforcement – no recordings, no court clerk transcriptions – and several were “edited” long after the interviews.
Not to mention the threats made against family members of those who entered guilty pleas. (There, Mueller and Company are fortunate that they were dealing with civilized individuals – if it had been me, the Scottish blood would have been brought to the fore, and would not be satisfied until they and all of their foul get were gone from the face of the Earth.)
Absolutely right.
(And your Scots blood must be diluted, if you’d settle for simply “gone from the face of the Earth”, and not require pyres or their heads on pikes, at the very least. 😉 )
And the summary from the AG confirms our suspicions! No collusion, AT ALL.
