More gun control is not the answer. It’s been four years since the horrific tragedy at Parkland. And what is the response by the Democrats? Calls for more gun control.
So, what does Biden do? Issues yet another statement.
“We can never bring back those we’ve lost. But we can come together to fulfill the first responsibility of our government and our democracy: to keep each other safe,” Mr. Biden said in a statement on the tragic shooting. “For Parkland, for all those we’ve lost, and for all those left behind, it is time to uphold that solemn obligation.”

As part of his efforts to curb gun violence, the president last year announced a set of unilateral moves addressing the proliferation of so-called “ghost guns,” handmade or self-assembled firearms that don’t have serial numbers; crafting draft model legislation on “red flag” laws, which would temporarily bar people facing mental anguish or other crises from accessing firearms; and reviewing federal policy on the use of stabilizing braces on pistols.
Here’s the problem with these calls for more and new gun control. It doesn’t work. It, quite frankly, would not have worked with the Parkland shooter and it didn’t work with the Sandy Hook shooter. People all over the place who were in contact with the Parkland shooter ignored the plethora of warning signs! The FBI completely ignored a credible tip. Broward County schools ignored all warning signs, didn’t let people in charge know how truly dangerous the shooter was, and instead kept on with their idiotically dangerous head-in-the-sand approach because ‘school to prison pipeline’ or some such drivel.
The confessed shooter allegedly threatened to kill other students and threatened to rape. He threatened to shoot up the school, according to the sheriff’s office. Classmates said he brought knives and bullets to school. He wrote hideous racial slurs on his backpack. He carved swastikas in the lunchroom tables.
But the assistant principals at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School didn’t have him arrested. Rather, they simply banned him from bringing a backpack to school and frisked him every day, according to the sworn testimony of the security guard who searched him, for fear he’d bring a deadly weapon and kill.
Broward’s policies allowed juveniles convicted of crimes as serious as murder and rape to go back into normal classrooms. Broward’s “Policy 5006” said that referring serious felonies like sexual assault and arson to the police was optional. Principals were trained to not cooperate with law enforcement, refusing to even tell officers whether suspected felons were on campus.
Please tell me, where in all of Broward County Schools policies, including the so-called PROMISE program, would new gun control legislation would’ve stopped the Parkland shooter? The shooter used the gun as a TOOL. The shooter was incredibly dangerous and the school and law enforcement officials KNEW IT.
Now, Parkland activists and gun control organizations want MORE laws and rules. Today, they are marching and highlighting how much gun violence has taken place since January 2021 when Biden took office.
“We’re not asking for magical things. This is the bare minimum for what a champion of gun violence prevention should be doing, and thus far the President hasn’t,” Igor Volsky, founder of Guns Down America, which has urged political and business leaders to prioritize gun violence prevention, told CNN.
The initiative on behalf of March For Our Lives, Guns Down America and Change the Ref comes following a spike in gun violence last year. Law enforcement agencies in some of the country’s biggest cities seized or recovered near decade-high numbers of firearms and ten of the country’s most populous cities set homicide records in 2021.
Recognizing the recent uptick in crime, Biden earlier this month turned his attention to gun violence with a trip to New York, where two police officers were shot on the job last month.
What they refuse to realize is that much of the violence involving guns has taken place in Democrat-run cities? Those very same cities who’ve been on a massive defund the police kick since the George Floyd riots?
People in charge KNEW how dangerous the Parkland shooter was to everyone around him. All the gun laws then, weren’t going to stop the shooter from inflicting harm upon himself or others, it just may have delayed things.
Gun violence has risen at schools since the Parkland shooting. There were 136 instances of gunfire on school grounds between Aug. 1 and Dec. 31, 2021, according to a tally last week by the gun control advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety. https://t.co/62FKWIJePf

Of all of those instances, the question MUST be asked. How many times were the adults in charge told the shooter was going to be a problem? Ryan Petty lost his daughter to the Parkland shooter. He’s been working tirelessly since on programs similar to Safe2Tell for schools, students, and officials to SAY something when they know it, but also for credible action to be taken once a tip is verified as real.
That didn’t happen at Parkland and 17 students lost their lives because of the shooter and the negligence of everyone around them.

As much as my heart breaks for the families of the wounded and the families who lost their children that day, the fact remains, more gun control is not the answer.

These people insist on living in a world where laws are magic spells and you only need to speak the right one into existence to make criminals be good boys and girls.
the gun control needed is accuracy and hitting only what you aim to hit by all legal gun users. Illegal users need to stop being ignored by all major Democrat cities.
