Scratch a Squad member and you’ll find an autocrat. On Thursday, CongressCommie Mondaire Jones (D-NY) showed his autocrat credentials on Thursday during gun violence legislation hearings, chaired by Jerry Nadler, on Thursday. While nearly every Democrat representative took shots at Republicans and accused them of wanting more murdered school children, Mondaire Jones was passionate in exposing his hatred for the Constitution, tripartate government and our Republic.
Mondaire Jones was sworn into the 117th Congress in January, 2021 and was immediately lauded as part of the squad with AOC, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Ommar. His district comprises parts of Rockland and Westchester County and he shares the Bronx with AOC. Neither Jones nor AOC has addressed crime in their districts. Hmmmm. Just seems The Squad would want to take a look at New York’s tough gun laws. There is still a lot of gun violence in New York State. The killer in Buffalo followed the tough gun laws in the state.
Nah, why be logical and linear when you can pontificate and shoot off your mouth. And, Jones mouth took potshots on Thursday. The CongressCommie began by using his youth to discuss being part of the school shooting generation. The first was Columbine. Jones said he was terrified. I remember that day. My son is younger than Jones. I struggled all day with what or if I should discuss Columbine with J. He popped in the car in the pickup line and said, “Did you hear about the school shooting?” He said that wouldn’t happen at my school, we would attack the shooters. Not false bravado. Now Mondaire Jones sits in Congress and my son is a Major in the Army. The paths were clear.

“You will not stop us from advancing the Protecting Our Kids Act today,” he added. “If the filibuster obstructs us, we will abolish it. If the Supreme Court objects, we will expand it. And we will not rest until we have taken weapons of war out of circulation and our communities each and every day.”
Obviously, while Jones was getting his undergrad at Stanford and his J.D. at Harvard, he never studied government or civics. First of all, the filibuster is a tool of the Senate and Jones is in the House. The Democrats have been yammering about expanding the Supreme Court for a year and a half. They don’t have the juice to do it in the next couple of months. And, after January 2023, the Dems will lover them so Filibuster.
Mondaire Jones really misses the target with the final sentence, “And we will not rest until we have taken weapons of war out of circulation and our communities each and every day.”And we will not rest until we have taken weapons of war out of circulation and our communities each and every day.” “Weapons of war”? My F15-EX hasn’t been delivered yet, but Jones can’t have it. Seriously folks, remember early March of this year when President Zelenskyy was encouraging Ukrainians to make Molotov Cocktails. Rocks, slingshots, pianos can all be weapons of war in the right situation. How about my Ford Escape? In Waukesha, the racist murderer used an Escape to kill five and wound 48. Weapons of war is a phrase used to instill fear.
Like most of the twats in government, Mondaire Jones knows less than nothing about firearms:

All semi-automatic weapons should be banned? Handguns and rifles? And, Mondaire Jones runs for the hills. None of these people could find their backsides with both hands tied behind their backs.
Jones was so passionate about the missiles he dropped on Thursday, he had to read every word. He probably scripted the hand slapping the table and finger pointing.
Mondaire Jones doesn’t know the Constitution, doesn’t respect the Supreme Court as a co-equal branch of government, and is ignorant of firearms. He is, though, an autocrat. Beware of the gun grabbers.

He has decided instead to seek another term from the new 10th CD, which includes lower Manhattan and much of the “hip” ground in Brooklyn. As a gay black man, I suppose he might be a better fit there than in the dreary suburbs of Westchester and Rockland Counties, but he’s got some stiff competition ahead. His return to the 118th Congress is questionable.

So, he admits he’s in violation of Chesterton’s Fence? He knows better because he’s some young person who came along and just knows these old folks don’t know what they’re doing?
First of all, the filibuster is a tool of the Senate and Jones is in the House.
As stupid as he might be*, I think he knows that. He’s seen that the Senate will be the roadblock to passage of their gun control, and is just throwing that threat out there as part of the whole effort.
(* I think he’s possibly equal parts evil and stupid, much like AOC. He’s less … photogenic, so he doesn’t get the attention AOC does. He also possibly doesn’t use Twitter as much.)

Yes. All of this is used to instill fear. The Wuhan Flu was used to instill fear.
For the very important reason that fear often overrides thinking, and critical thinking sees through their justifications for their power and control. People in fear can be herded like sheep. People NOT in fear (or overcoming it because they have prepared) cannot be driven, they must be led.

I’m betting he doesn’t even know what “semi-automatic” means.
And, of course, he’s surrounded by security armed with said “weapons of war” so he doesn’t understand why anyone might conceivably own these things.
He is, though, an autocrat.
He is, possibly, the worst kind, too, according to CS Lewis. The sort that knows what he is doing is for your own good.
It really is true:
Hard men make easy times (the late 1700s through the 1980s).
Easy times make soft men (like Mondaire Jones).
Soft men make hard times (like now and moving forward).
Hopefully, hard times then make hard men.
IMO, Mr Jones should be censured by the committee and by the House in general, and considered to have renounced his oath of office. Yeah, I know….
Cameron says: It’s hardly surprising. Gun grabbers like him are getting more open with their beliefs because they see that they are going to fail if they work within the system.
