While some will natter on about how this is a serious breach of protocol, I’m totally fine with Melania refusing Jill’s invite to tea and crumpets at the White House.

Melania Trump will not join Donald Trump at the White House on Wednesday, despite receiving an invitation from President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden to attend.

Traditionally, when the outgoing president hosts the incoming president-elect in the Oval Office, the first lady hosts her successor for tea in the residence.

Michelle Obama hosted Melania Trump for tea in the Yellow Room after the 2016 election. However, Melania Trump did not meet with Jill Biden after the contentious 2020 race as Donald Trump falsely and repeatedly claimed he was the true winner.

Can you really blame Melania for not wanting to have tea with Jill Biden? I can’t. Jill was instrumental in helping drag her husband over the finish line in 2020, after spending most of his campaign either in the basement or on the beach. Even then, both Jill and Joe, along with many others, were beating the drum of hatred and negativity against President Trump, Melania, and the rest of the Trump family. Furthermore, Michelle Obama has consistently whined on multiple occasions about the ‘awkwardness’ of Melania giving her a gift. 

And then, once Joe got into office, the DOJ as well as attorneys general in Georgia and New York were fully weaponized against the Trump family, and especially President Trump. This is what Melania wrote in her book concerning the Mar-A-Lago raid with the FBI taking over TEN hours to comb through their residence. 

“I maintain my home with meticulous organization, so what greeted me when I walked in was both shocking and deeply upsetting. My belongings—clothes, documents, personal files, and medical records—had been rummaged through, leaving me with a profound sense of violation. The anger I felt was compounded by the realization that strangers had invaded my personal space and sifted through my possessions. I could not be certain whether they had taken any of my belongings. The atmosphere in the house was thick with negative energy, tainted by the intrusion. This act, though carried out by a federal agency supposedly dedicated to our protection, felt like a breach of trust and security.

This invasion of privacy I experienced raised significant concerns: Were my phones hacked? Were my emails and text messages being monitored? What had happened to my rights and freedoms? What else was the government capable of ?

Stop and think about that for a long minute. The DOJ and FBI authorized a raid on Mar-A-Lago in an attempt to find “proof” that President Trump stole classified files and decided that they needed to go through Melania’s things, AND Barron’s! as well. I can’t imagine the disgust, loathing, fear, and unease one would feel to have been targeted so unjustly. 

And, who was in charge of the FBI and the DOJ, beyond Christopher Wray and Merrick Garland? President. Joe. Biden.

In her book, Melania makes it clear that, if she is lied to or someone does her wrong in the business world, there is ZERO forgiveness. They are no longer welcome in her orbit. 

The same goes for Jill Biden. 

“She ain’t going,” a source familiar with Melania’s decision told The Post. “Jill Biden’s husband authorized the FBI snooping through her underwear drawer. The Bidens are disgusting,” the source said.

“Jill Biden isn’t someone Melania needs to meet,” the source added.

I couldn’t agree more. As Melania points out in her book, she along with Barron AND President Trump should’ve been afforded their Constitutional right to DUE PROCESS. That didn’t happen. Which brought to her mind her and her family’s history of living under Communism and the pervasive invasion and surveillance by the state. 

Again, is it any wonder that Melania wants to have nothing to do with the Bidens? I don’t blame her one bit.

Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.

But there is no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans, and that is a threat to this country.

And here, in my view, is what is true: MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people.

Joe continued that refrain, as did Jill for the next two years. And, they subverted the rule of law by weaponizing the DOJ and FBI against President Trump and his family. 

I’d say Melania remembers. So do we.
