Mamdani as New York City Mayor plans to go full Orwellian government while promising free money for all. There were a lot of people angry at the fact that many conservatives, us included, were labeling Zohran Mamdani a socialist. Well, last night during his victory speech, he once again proudly proclaimed he was a socialist.

One who plans to use other people’s money to make all the things FREE for all. The New York Times was beside themselves with joy. 

Shortly after Zohran Mamdani was anointed the mayor-elect of New York City, he strode onto the stage of a cavernous, ornate theater, put his hand on his heart, smiled his signature smile and nodded to a socialist forebear.

“As Eugene Debs once said, I can see the dawn of a better day for humanity,” Mr. Mamdani said.

The crowd roared its approval.

Mr. Mamdani’s speech to the faithful on Tuesday night was as suffused with hope as his come-from-behind campaign, which captivated a city and a nation and offered a youthful rebuke to the aging standard-bearers of the Democratic Party and the politics that they have embraced.

As Lisa pointed out in her post earlier today, Eugene Debs was the founder of the Socialist Party. This is who Zohran has embraced. Mamdani is a socialist who believes that more government is the solution to every real or imagined issue. 

New York, tonight you have delivered. A mandate for change. ​​A mandate for a new kind of politics. A mandate for a city we can afford. And a mandate for a government that delivers exactly that.

Did you catch that? He literally tells us that the government will be the final say in everything. Not only that, but Ward Clark at RedState caught something else from his speech. 

We will prove that there is no problem too large for government to solve, and no concern too small for it to care about.

For years, those in City Hall have only helped those who can help them. But on January 1st, we will usher in a city government that helps everyone.

Read that again. This is Mamdani’s plan. Forget government BY the people. Forget We The People. Let’s go full Orwellian shall we?

Nope. Instead it will be a government that will turn back flips giving voters everything they didn’t realize they wanted, AND become an intrusive behemoth scrutinizing every aspect of your life as a resident of The Big Apple. 

This is what the left has been aiming for all these years. Mamdani made this plan abundantly clear during his campaign. Yet suddenly people like Van Jones are surprised at his supposed “character switch.”

C’mon guys. Mamdani put his character front and center the entire campaign! Van Jones among others refused to see it. 

Socialism has been tried many times before. Bernie Sanders with his three homes has made it a life-long priority to have government do everything for you. Well, now he gets to see this experiment unfold live in one of the biggest most capitalistic cities in the world. 

As Mamdani plans to have the government involved in every aspect of New Yorker’s lives in order to provide them with the magical free stuff, it’s important to note something else about him and his character that the Democrat pundits ignored.

Yes, that has been missing from all his speeches. Here’s what he said last night. 

I am young, despite my best efforts to grow older. I am Muslim. I am a democratic socialist. And most damning of all, I refuse to apologize for any of this.

But he’s not…American? In fact, in reading through his speech Americans were not on his list. Pay close attention to who Mamdani’s friends are.

For all those in New York City who voted for this Orwellian change, enjoy your free stuff while it lasts. Because, eventually, the NYC government WILL run out of other people’s money.
