Liz Be Gone, Go Join Your Friends On The Left

Liz Cheney got ousted from her position as House Republican Conference Chair, finally. In order to be the number three in leadership, it is axiomatic that in order to be a leader in an organization one must believe in the organization. Cheney is part of the Establishment Republicans and she is her father’s daughter. Before her ouster, her speech on the floor last night was an insult to every Republican. What we need is a big can of Liz Be Gone.

Cheney is to be replaced by Elise Stefanik. While Cheney voted for the Trump agenda 92.9% of the time, Stefanik only voted for the Trump agenda 77.7% of the time. But, when the chips were down, and the Democrats wanted to Impeach President Trump for the second time for inciting the January 6 riot, Stefanik defended him and Cheney voted to Impeach.

That was bad enough. That would have been a matter for the voters of Wyoming. But, Liz couldn’t quit Donald. She kept bringing him up The Big Lie. Democrats believe The Big Lie is that the election was stolen. Republicans and Trump believe that The Big Lie is that Dementia Joe won fair and square.

Cheney doesn’t believe that Republican voters are smart enough to make up our own minds. She believes that Donald Trump has hypnotized us with his magical comb-over and mean tweets.

Last night, Liz cemented why we need a big old can of Liz Be Gone with her speech on the Floor of the House. The transcript comes from USA Today. Cheney began her speech saying that she knows the subject is cancel culture. Um, no. To cancel someone means to take away their voice, their personhood, and their way of making a living. Being a Cheney and a member of the D.C. establishment means never getting canceled. You can always make a living as a lobbyist. Your voice cannot be canceled as long as the legacy media has a television camera. No canceling there, Liz.

Liz doesn’t mention President Trump, but she is pointed about him:

“Today we face a threat America has never seen before. A former president, who provoked a violent attack on this capital in an effort to steal the election, has resumed his aggressive effort to convince Americans that the election was stolen from him. He risks inciting further violence. Millions of Americans have been misled by the former president, they have heard only his words, but not the truth. As he continues to undermine our democratic process, sowing seeds of doubt about whether democracy really works at all.

Donald Trump didn’t provoke shite on January 6. The people who breached the Capitol let it be known in advance that they were going there to do that. Donald Trump didn’t convince us of anything. We saw the election get stolen before our very eyes. If Donald Trump hadn’t spoken up, we would have reviled him. The seeds of doubt about our Constitutional Republic were sown by Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and the states who changed voting rules un-Constitutionally, without legislative approval, you dolt. You said nothing about that. You said nothing about the cities that burned, businesses destroyed and lives lost in last summer’s Antifa riots.

Then, Cheney brought up a Gold Star Father and “America the Beautiful”:

“I received a message last week from a Gold Star father who said said standing up for the truth honors all who gave all. We must all strive to be worthy of the sacrifice of those who have died for our freedom. They are the patriots Katharine Lee Bates described in the words of ‘America the Beautiful’ when she wrote ‘Oh beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife, who more than self, their country loved, and mercy, more than life’.

Liz made herself very small with that. How dare she bring a Gold Star Family into this. If one thousand wrote her, a true patriot wouldn’t exploit their sacrifice to make herself look good. Everything. Everything Cheney said was self-serving and self-aggrandizing.

Today, after her ouster, she yapped again:

I beg to differ. Donald Trump followed the Constitution. It is anti-Democracy to accept the outcome of an election that is questionable. You are a turncoat.

You go ahead and fight on CNN and MSNBC, Liz. They will applaud you. They will lionize you. Right up until they are done with you. Then, they too will grab their can of Liz Be Gone.

I bet she revives that Lincoln project and takes dem money to try to derail Trump still. It’s the revenge of the Bush Family for stiffing low energy Jeb in his quest to lose gracefully to HRC.. IMO.

I believe you are 100% correct.

Thanks, Toni. You guys post excellent articles and deserve a lot more exposure.

Sadly, I seem to recall that she is devoted to her father and that makes her departure today a sad end for him too.

I cannot stand the Bush clique. Of course all true Republicans and Conservatives go to the Washington Post to write Op-eds to air their grievances.

I can’t say it any more directly or gracefully than her fellow Wyomingites did back in January…

From the Wyoming Republican Party – January 13, 2021 – “The wind in Wyoming has been horrendous today—with gusts up to 65 miles per hour. That is nothing compared to the whirlwind created by Representative Cheney’s announcement that she would be voting to impeach President Trump, and her subsequent follow-through of doing just that.

There has not been a time during our tenure when we have seen this type of an outcry from our fellow Republicans, with the anger and frustration being palpable in the comments we have received. Our telephone has not stopped ringing, our email is filling up, and our website has seen more traffic than at any previous time. The consensus is clear that those who are reaching out to the Party vehemently disagree with Representative Cheney’s decision and actions.”

I do not believe Representative Cheney will be missed.

I won’t disagree with your post, Toni. I will disagree a bit with your headline.
It’s not her ‘friends’ on the left that she’s joining. It’s her fellow elite ruling class.

She is part of the “Boston Brahmans” and other Ivy League grads who think they should rule over all us rubes who graduated from engineering schools and state colleges and just don’t know as much as they do. Whether they would admit it or are even conscious of it, they believe they are in a special educated class and have a right to govern us.

And those folks are just as prevalent on the ‘right’ and the ‘center’ as they are on the left.
