Kathy Hochul: We Are Truly Out Of Space

Kathy Hochul says, “We are truly out of space.” Have you wondered why you don’t see tent cities all over the boroughs of New York City? It is the only major city with a “right to shelter” mandate.

Right to shelter mandate in New York City means providing shelter for anyone who requests it.

Here is a little backstory to the right-to-shelter lawsuit:

The city’s legal obligation stems from a class-action lawsuit that was filed in the late 1970s, which argued that a right to shelter existed under the New York state Constitution.

To settle the lawsuit, the city reached an agreement in 1981 to provide shelter for every homeless man who applies for it, which has since been expanded to women and families with children. The agreement also laid out the standards for care, including bed size and staff-to-resident ratios. – Seattle Times

We Are Truly Out Of Space

Greg Abbott’s plan of shipping out illegal immigrants from his state has to be the most brilliant idea ever. It at least is getting the attention of ALL Americans now. Although, if I am honest, I’d prefer he take the National Guard and shut the damned border.

Kathy now says, “We are truly out of space.” And that New York City is “at capacity.” She supports Mayor Eric Adams in ending the right to shelter because New York City was never meant to “house literally the entire world.”

Huh, really, Kath? How about that. You don’t say.

Just a few days ago, Mayor Adams was complaining about not having the money and resources to be able to do anything productive for the onslaught of illegals. Now, though, he seems to have a newly measured demeanor in this interview he did just yesterday on Good Day New York, Fox 5:

In this interview, Adams asks, “Why aren’t we stopping this at the source?” And, “Why are we not dealing with this as a national crisis that it is?”

But then he boasts about how well the city has handled this crisis because not one illegal immigrant spent the night on the streets like they do down in Texas.

The self-proclaimed “Biden of Brooklyn” praised heaps of glory onto the 8.4+ million residents of New Yorkers and how they protested with dignity by not name-calling.

And now, here we are, Governor Hochul, backing the mayor’s cancellation of the right-to-shelter mandate. Illegal aliens in shelters have been given 60 days to evict. The deadline is this weekend for the first round. Mayor Adams said they will have to re-apply for shelter. So, basically, they are not going anywhere.

I’m surprised Hochul isn’t taking it upon herself to evict regular LEGAL citizens from their homes to have somewhere to put the illegals.

Here Comes Joe

But now, with Joe Biden’s helping handouts to the illegals, giving them protected status, Kathy can breathe a little better that she may see some revenue and tax income perhaps from illegals working properly. Or, at the least, boost their employment numbers?

Hochul said she had been pushing for more than a year to get Venezuelans the temporary protected status that allows them to work in the US, and that now working migrants will begin to live independently instead of relying on the city’s shelter system. – New York Post

Expanding temporary protected status to migrants allows them to work within 30 days instead of 180, meaning they will be able to exit the shelters sooner.

Hochul said the state is committed to working with Mayor Eric Adams “to ensure these people are connected to jobs as soon as they’re able to work.” – New York Post

But who is going to hire them? Do the illegals have Tax IDs so they can pay their fair share? I am unsure if this means they can pay taxes now, or does it simply mean they cannot be deported? Or worse, can they now vote somehow?

I want to say nice try, Kathy, but this little stunt of handing out protected status won’t stop the illegals from continuing their little underground economy.

On another note, have you been watching the coverage that Bill Melugin has been providing via X? It’s not good.

Buckle up!
