Kamala Harris, cleanup for you on aisle 46.
Your job is to go on the Today Show and attempt to follow up on what Jen Psaki had to do immediately after the disaster show of a press conference yesterday – spin and wash and clean and dress up Old Man Biden’s comments so they appear to come out of the mouth of a moderately competent president, instead of an addlepated grandpa who is cranky because he had to do a 4 pm presser instead of getting his ice cream and afternoon TV.
One could feel sort of sorry for Kamala Harris, having to clean up after Biden, except that she’s so deeply unlikeable and is also equally incompetent. Which means that the press, even though they are completely in the bag for the old man, have no compunctions about putting Harris on the hot seat for the administration’s failings. So Kamala went on the Today Show, where Savannah Guthrie was not in a mood to coddle her. She had the vice president on, and she wanted some answers about what Joe Biden just said.
Too bad Kamala Harris, as usual, was completely unprepared for her job.
Sparks flew from the interview’s onset as host Savannah Guthrie grilled Harris on directly answering her specific questions while the latter appeared set on reciting the administration’s talking points.”
Guthrie began the interview by asking if President Biden gave “the green light” to Russian President Vladimir Putin to take aggressive action toward Ukraine with his suggestion that the U.S. response would depend on whether the former’s actions were “a minor incursion” or something more serious.”
“The president has been very clear and we as the United States are very clear, if Putin takes aggressive action, we are prepared to levy serious costs, period. And I will tell you that part of the posture that we have taken is grounded in the respect and the value we place in–” Harris said before being interrupted by Guthrie.”
“I’m sorry to interrupt … I’m sorry to interrupt. But it is less than clear. Thirty minutes after the news conference, the White House press secretary had to actually clarify the president’s remarks –” Guthrie said before Harris spoke over her, appearing frustrated, and saying, “I’m being clear with you right now. And so if you’re interested, I’ll continue to be clear.”
So Savannah Guthrie asked actual questions about Russia and Ukraine, and Kamala Harris became her usual snotty self when she was put on the defensive. Every pore of her is aching to scream “DON’T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?” and yet she is forced to paste her fake smile on, and attempt to shovel huge amounts of poo. And you can tell that Kamala came into the interview thinking this would be her usual softball game (which she is never prepared for anyway), so credit to Guthrie for actually putting hard questions to Harris.
And then Guthrie moved from Russia to the comments about “illegitimate” elections, thanks to this answer from President Brandon during the presser.
Joe Biden is asked by @PhilipWegmann is the 2022 election results could be illegitimate:

Those comments caused some massive headsnaps, especially considering how the Democrats have been whining about President Trump’s ongoing commentary about the 2020 election. For Biden to preemptively say that the 2022 election won’t be “legitimate” unless he gets to federalize the voting procedures of the country is QUITE the reach. Naturally, Savannah Guthrie wanted the vice president’s reaction. Again, Kamala Harris did not help the situation.
Guthrie turned the conversation to the 2022 midterm elections.”
“[Biden] openly cast doubt on whether the 2022 midterm elections would be legitimate. He said it all depends, which is astonishing to hear a president question whether our elections will be legitimate. We’ve heard it before, but not from this president. Is he really concerned that we may not have fair and free elections?” Guthrie asked.”
Harris avoided directly addressing Biden’s comments and instead began talking about passing federal voting rights legislation.”
Guthrie interrupted Harris, noting that both bills she mentioned failed to pass the Senate.”
“If I may finish –” Harris said, but Guthrie continued.
“But the specific question, if you don’t mind, does he think now that these bills haven’t been passed that the ’22 midterms won’t be legitimate or fair or free?” she asked Harris.”
Harris continued her previous answer and avoided directly answering Guthrie’s question a second time.”
Everything is just going fine and dandy in the Biden-Harris administration.
Wow they could have cleaned this up but Kamala makes it worse.
Refuses to answer whether the next elections will be legitimate, provides word salad about voting bills. https://t.co/5CEEWL9cxD

The media (aside from Jennifer Rubin, of course) has noticed just how bad yesterday’s presser was. If Savannah Guthrie, on the Today Show, is asking these questions of Kamala Harris in order to get clairification, then it was bad. Unfortunately, we have a senile president and a truly unprepared and dumb vice president, and standing behind them is Nancy Pelosi. And if you didn’t think Ukraine was upset, well…

Ukraine’s very upset, the Democrats are going to have selective amnesia about claims of election fraud, and no one feels confident about the leadership in the White House. And we’re only one year into the Biden-Harris administration, with 10 more months until the midterms. God help us all.
