The Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee have been throwing a temper tantrum ever since Attorney General Barr provided the 4-page summary of the Muller report. Their reaction to being told Trump didn’t collude has been quite childish in my opinion. Now they will fix it all with a subpoena! However, with this vote, we find that Committee Chair Jerry Nadler is waving the double standard flag big time!

“The House Judiciary Committee voted Wednesday to authorize a subpoena to compel the Justice Department to hand over special counsel Robert Mueller’s full report to Congress.

The committee voted 24-17 along party lines to approve a resolution authorizing subpoenas for Mueller’s report, including accompanying exhibits and other attachments, as well as its underlying evidence, at a business meeting Wednesday morning. The resolution also authorizes the committee’s Democratic chairman to subpoena testimony related to the special counsel’s report.”

They are going after the whole ball of wax in vain hope that they will find that one special Trump!Russia!Collusion! item that Robert Mueller has somehow kept hidden from view. I mean, there’s gotta be something there right? Adam Schiff for brains has been telling us so for two very long tedious years.

Hence the vote to subpoena the DOJ. Which the Republicans are rightly calling the gambit pure political theatre.

“Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), the committee’s top Republican, accused Democrats of engaging in “political theater” and acting recklessly by demanding the release of grand jury material and other sensitive information from the report, which he said amounted to asking Barr to violate federal law.

“This is reckless. It’s irresponsible. And it’s disingenuous,” Collins said in opening remarks. “What’s the rush? Spring break, probably. We don’t want to wait ‘til May. We don’t want to wait until the report comes out.”

Keep in mind that what the House Democrats (all the Democrats for that matter) want is the full un redacted report. This is not a good idea folks. Why? The word CLASSIFIED comes to mind.

Congress has asked for the entire Mueller report, and underlying evidence, by April 2. That deadline stands.

In the meantime, Barr should seek court approval (just like in Watergate) to allow the release of grand jury material.

Key points:

• Case he cites has to do with Grand Jury reports
• Jury can produce report for court but must follow incredibly strict guidelines
• Jury can find “noncriminal” misconduct by “appointed public officer” but named person(s) was to have opportunity to testify in front of grand jury
• Person(s) named in report get 30 days to respond to any allegation in report BEFORE it is public record or even BEFORE report can be subpoenaed!
• The case in question was in 1974 and dealt with Nixon officials and the full report was never made public.

As Kim points out, what Shiff, Nadler, and crew want is everything. ALL of the raw testimony and evidence. Even if it involves folks who were never called to testify! Even if it involves highly classified information!

Evidently Nadler doesn’t care about all that. He wants everything now because Trump!

The problem for Nadler is, he was singing a VERY different tune 21 years ago. What was happening 21 years ago?

“Commonly known as the Starr Report, shortly before the House voted to release it, Nadler told PBS’ Charlie Rose it should not be made public.

“As a matter of decency and protecting people’s privacy rights, people who may be totally innocent third parties, what must not be released at all,” Nadler said in 1998.

“It’s grand jury material. It represents statements which may or may not be true by various witnesses, salacious material. All kinds of material that it would be unfair to release,” he added.”

Oh. Well. Isn’t that something?

When asked, this was his response.

He really did say that with a straight face! The Democrats sure do love swimming in the swamps of hypocrisy hoping no one will notice!

Nadler is really splitting hairs here and he’s not doing a very good job at it.

This vote was political grandstanding at its very worst. The Democrats, led by Nadler and Schiff have decided that some laws and regulations don’t apply here because Trump! They are willing to force the Attorney General to break laws in order to get what they want.

That’s not how this works guys. That’s not how ANY of this works.
