Iran Deal: Reward Terrorists And Bypass Congress

Iran demands and we say, why sure! We’ll agree to reward terrorists by lifting sanctions. Figure out how to bypass Congress so they don’t get a vote? Let’s do it! Yes, you read that correctly. It seems that Iran is in the drivers seat with these negotiations.

The Biden administration has said repeatedly that it isn’t negotiating a new agreement but is taking part in international talks to bring Iran and the U.S. back into compliance with the 2015 deal.

Under a law passed after the 2015 deal, the president is required to submit any new agreement with Iran to the Senate for a 30-day review. But the White House is expected to argue that the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act doesn’t apply in this case and that U.S. negotiators have merely worked out the details of returning to the original 2015 deal.

“The administration will carefully consider the facts and circumstances of any U.S. return to the JCPOA to determine the legal implications, including those under INARA,” a State Department spokesperson said in a statement.

“The president believes that a bipartisan approach to Iran is the strongest way to safeguard U.S. interests for the long-term, and administration officials have reached out at all levels to members of Congress and their staff to discuss our approach to Iran.”

So, not only is the U.S. perfectly fine with keeping Russia at the negotiating table, the State Department is working hard to keep this deal away from Congress. Keep in mind, the ORIGINAL deal was never approved by the Senate, yet Obama ran with it anyway. This is exactly the same scenario. Given that most of those involved in this were the same folks who built the original agreement…

Iran has continually refused to meet face to face with other negotiators. Furthermore, the country has reached 60% nuclear enrichment that they insist will be used for civil purposes. Have you MET Iran lately?

This Saturday Iran will meet with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Reviving the seven-year-old landmark nuclear agreement with Iran often referred to as the JCPOA would mean relief for global energy markets. Oil has surged to $116 a barrel amid Russia’s war on Ukraine and the reluctance of other oil-producing nations to significantly increase production.

It’s bad enough that the U.S. is STILL buying oil from Russia, with the price of crude now topping $115 a barrel, but the thought of buying from Iran and thus funding the multiple terrorist organizations that regime supports? Hell no!

Iran is absolutely thrilled with how the talks are going.

Iran is thrilled about the progress of these discussions. Why? Because the U.S. is handing them one reward after another!

This long tweet thread is a MUST READ if you want to know why Iran is in the drivers seat here.

That’s just the start of a long infuriating thread of information. As noted above, Noronha points out that yes, the State Department and DOJ have been extremely busy trying to make sure Congress gets ZERO oversight and ZERO votes on this deal. That’s bad enough. But it’s the terrorist components that are enraging.

4. Here’s why: Led by Rob Malley, the U.S. has promised to lift sanctions on some of the regime’s worst terrorists and torturers, leading officials in the regime’s WMD infrastructure, and is currently trying to lift sanctions on the IRGC itself. Let’s dive in.

5. First, Biden’s team is preparing to rescind the Supreme Leaders’ Office Executive Order (E.O. 13876) as soon as this coming Monday, and lift sanctions on nearly every one of the 112 people/entities sanctioned under it, even if they’re sanctioned under other legal authorities.

6. We sanctioned some of the worst people you can possibly imagine under this authority, like Mohsen Rezaei, who was involved in the 1994 AMIA bombing that killed 85 people in Argentina. He’ll be able to live free of sanctions next week if Malley proceeds.

7. Also under this action, the U.S. will lift sanctions on IRGC Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan, who led IRGC forces in Lebanon and Syria when Hezbollah bombed the Marine compound in Beirut and killed 241 U.S. service members in 1983.

Did you read that?? The U.S. has agreed to lift sanctions against the terrorists who were responsible for the bombing of the Marine barracks in 1983! Furthermore, as Noronha’s thread points out, the Iran terrorists responsible for providing IED’s that killed and injured American soldiers in Iraq will ALSO be handed a ‘get out of jail free card.’

Who else will get a reward? Banks, thus freeing up billions in funds. Guess where much of that will go? Nuclear enrichment and terrorism funding.

That is a fair point.

You know, it used to be that we didn’t negotiate with terrorists. Now, in a continuation from the Obama Administration, the Biden Administration is not only negotiating with them, the plan is to REWARD those terrorists with cash and zero sanctions.

National security? What national security? We have none with this Administration. Midterms are coming up. Remember this when you consider who to vote for.
