Imagine if This Happened at the US Border
Imagine the following scene: A surge of migrants breaks through a padlocked, steel fence on the US-Mexico border. Border Patrol agents in riot gear set off smoke canisters and push back the horde. US authorities seal the border and dispatch drones and helicopters to the scene, while the throng of migrants swelters in the heat. Some migrants jump into the river off a bridge trying to cross illegally.
Can you imagine the pearl clutching, tear-stained outrage as liberals call President Trump everything from a fascist to Hitler to a heartless racist pig.
Well, this is happening right now, but it’s not happening at the American border. This is the scene at the Mexico-Guatemala border where, according to CNN, thousands of migrants are waiting to cross into Mexico on their way to the United States.
Mexican officials had said people seeking asylum would be processed at the border. But it’s unclear what will happen next.
Mexico has made it a point to stress that they’re stepping up security at their border, and yet no one is calling Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto a fascist.
Mexico has said that anyone who wants to be recognized as a refugee will be held “at a migratory station” for up to 45 business days. [emphasis mine] And yet, I hear no leftist screeching about human rights, incarcerating brown people, or accusing Pena Nieto of heartlessness or sociopathy.
Mexico also has said that anyone who enters “in an irregular manner” will be “…subject to an administrative procedure and, where appropriate, will be returned to their country of origin in a safe and orderly manner.” (I’d be pitching them right over the border with a trebuchet, but I’m not feeling generous.) And yet, Pena Nieto is not literally Hitler like the liberals accuse Trump of being.
Mexico has arrested activists agitators for trying to help the illegal crossings, but apparently that doesn’t make Mexico the equivalent of Nazi Germany either.
Does anyone see a bit of hypocrisy here? (The question is rhetorical – no need to reply.)
If this all happened at the US border with Mexico, there would be leftist tears. There would be outrage. There would be demands for the resignation of everyone from the Chief of the US Border Patrol to the DHS Secretary. They would be demanding that President Trump be impeached. There would be attacks against Border Patrol agents and decapitated animal carcasses would be left on the porches of DHS officials.
Meanwhile, the migrants certainly seem to have a sense of entitlement about entering a country that is not theirs. Some migrants claim they had no other choice but to join the caravan in search of work, but are they entitled to enter our country because they can’t find a job? Do they have some kind of claim to jobs in the United States? And why in fug’s holy hell are they celebrating?
Members of the group — many with children in tow — had cheered and chanted as they streamed toward the port of entry, with celebratory airhorns blaring.
It’s as if they think that somehow by joining a mob they’re defeating Trump, or defeating our efforts to secure our borders, or claiming what is rightfully theirs.
Several Latin American countries have beefed up their border security in anticipation of these leeches, but apparently the migrants didn’t get that memo. Guatemalan police blocked their way for two hours. Mexico sent additional forces to its southern border with Guatemala earlier this week and began erecting fences at the Tecun Uman crossing on Friday. But to no avail. They don’t care if they’re not welcome. They want to enter, and they will.
You know what I do if someone insists on busting down my door, after I tell them they’re not welcome, and despite the fact that I’m standing there pointing my gun at them, telling them to turn back? I SHOOT THEM!
But Mexico was much friendlier to these invaders and had been more than generous, saying they would grant asylum. However their limited resources only allow them to process a few hundred migrants per day. But oh, no – that wasn’t good enough.
Despite the offer, the majority of Hondurans grew restive at the prospect of waiting for days or weeks following days of walking from their hometowns to Mexico. Hundreds of migrants, mostly young men, began pulling down a fence on the Guatemalan side of the border and soon overwhelmed the handful of Guatemalan police.
One of the migrants addressed the crowd from a house in this Guatemalan border town. “If they don’t let us cross now, we’ll cross by the river,” he said.
Migrants then rushed across the bridge that separates the two countries and tried to overwhelm some 500 federal police manning a thin fence. At one point, some in the crowd threw bottles and stones at the police, who responded with several volleys of what appeared to be tear gas. A helicopter roamed in the skies.
So, the message is: let us in, or we will act like monkeys flinging shit and commit acts of violence against you?
These are people ostensibly asking for help – assistance they apparently feel they’re entitled to at others’ expense. They have no respect for the laws of the nations they’re invading. They have no sense of gratitude for the efforts Mexico is making to grant them asylum and process them in a peaceable, orderly manner. If this is how these entitled ingrates ask for help, they can turn right around and go back to where they came from.
Worse yet, the migrants – most of whom are young-ish men – have been using women and children as basically human shields, according to Mexico’s Interior Minister. They put pregnant women and children at the front of the group as they threw bottles and stones at police. Don’t they seem nice?
No, assholes. That’s not how any of this works. If you are desperate enough to ask for help, you don’t get to make demands or get violent. You get to wait, and you get to abide by the laws of the nation that is nice enough to provide said help.
To his credit, President Trump got tough. He did his job unhesitatingly, vowing to shut down the southern border in order to protect our nation against these savages. Not only that, but he said he would stop the flow of American dollars to Mexico if these ungrateful, entitled swine pushed through to our border.
If the Mexicans want the hundreds of millions of dollars we hand over every year, they’d better start using that cash to stop the hordes of spoiled knuckle draggers from every Latin American shithole from storming our castle. That money funds law enforcement that helps the battle against drug cartels, as well as supporting improvements to the Mexican judicial system and border security, including security at the Guatemala border – the very border where these cretins just staged an onslaught. I would recommend they start using those funds the way they were intended – to secure their borders and keep that filth from infesting ours – instead of laundering that money through whatever cartel real estate or car dealerships they might be using this week in their corrupt little schemes.
