Fox News and Google sponsored the final early debate prior to the Iowa Caucus in the 2016 Presidential Race. Martha MacCallum and Bill Hemmer moderated the undercard with lightweight punchers/candidates former Governor Mike Huckabee, former Senator Rick Santorum, former Governor Jim Gilmore and former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina. Jim Gilmore? Who knew Jim Gilmore was still in the race. The debate was held at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

The first question went to Huckabee who gave his standard “standing on the factory floor” answer. And, Rick Santorum was hysterical and screaming from the get go. Methinks he needs to cut down on the Red Bull. No matter what his answer is, it is high pitched and incoherent. Caliph, Caliphate, delegitimize?.. I am thinking maybe Santorum needs a Xanax.
Holy Cow! Jim Gilmore is a veteran (who knew?). Jim Gilmore is not going to Donald Trump’s counter programming Veteran’s Event. Jim Gilmore’s resume is very impressive. You can read it here. Score one for Jim Gilmore. But, then he started whining. Jim Gilmore is the GOP version of Senator Bernie Sanders. Do they get these people from Central Casting?
Carly Fiorina has always been calm and measured, but zero based budgeting makes peoples’ eye glaze over. And, Carly used every single one of her canned Hillary Clinton lines, yet again.
But, she smacked Martha MacCallum for questioning Rick Santorum’s Pro-Life bones. I gotta tell you folks, my heart kind of belongs to Carly. I don’t have a candidate yet, but I love Carly. I really do. I am a fangirl. Squee!
The closing statements were a merciful thirty seconds. This is the last undercard/losers event. And, for that, we are all very grateful.
Remember Victory Girls watches the debates so that you don’t have to watch.
I’m a Carly too. Tough as nails, action oriented, global experience and awareness, and a solid moral compass. MSM doesn’t give her much coverage. Hopefully her grass roots efforts will pay off.
If not the Presidential candidate, she would be an excellent cabinet member.
I still hold out hope for a Fiorina Presidency. Small, but it’s still there.
