Randi Weingarten got yet another sweetheart of a takedown yesterday with Fox News‘ Martha MacCallum.
Weingarten, president of The American Federation of Teachers, joined MacCallum to discuss the recent lawsuit that went to The Supreme Court, challenging story times and lessons for young children that feature LGBTQ+ themes and the parents’ rights to opt out.
Martha MacCallum, who is no stranger to a good, spirited debate with the AFT president was not letting up. I think MacCallum took the words out of the mouths of many frustrated parents. Weingarten did think that she would be able to talk her way out of this one, though:
I would say that this is a hard case, because parents, of course, have rights in terms of educating their kids and schools have to be communities. And the moment you have a case like this, with such great distrust for what is being taught in a classroom or read in a classroom, I consider that a failure from the beginning.”-Randi Weingarten
A hard case. And, distrust. Ya think? More about who failed what momentarily. Weingarten acknowledges that, as a member of the gay community, (the collective) “we” have to make sure families are safe, that kids are safe. That differences should be acknowledged and “embraced”.
Yeah. And, rammed down the throats of captive Kindergarteners whether parents consent or not with books that talk about pronouns being “like the weather”. Titles like, “Not He or She, It’s Me”. And. let’s not forget the plethora of flags and Drag Queen Story Hours. They’re just “acknowledging” and “embracing” the differences. Funny, I don’t believe any public school teachers who are members of AFT pack a pistol in case an intruder comes in. Nor did they read a book on Good Friday about Jesus’ Resurrection last week. Those poor Christian, Catholic and LDS kids were not “acknowledged” or “embraced”. Speaking of God’s children…
We need to be making sure that every one of God’s children is accepted in those classrooms. And whether that person is an evangelical Christian or whether that person is the daughter or the son of gay parents, THAT is our obligations in schools so, it’s a failure of all of us that this case is in The Supreme Court right now.”-Randi Weingarten
Every one of God’s children is created by God as either male or female in utero, Randi. And, excuse me? A failure of all of us? Nope, not buying it, sis. And, neither was Martha, thankfully. How ’bout them reading scores?
U.S. students’ reading scores have plunged further on the test known as the nation’s report card, while math scores have stagnated for 8th graders and ticked up slightly only for 4th graders—demonstrating that the nation’s children are still struggling to rebound from devastating academic losses supercharged by the pandemic.”–EdWeek.org
Weingarten attributes this to funding. This is why funding public education is so important. (It may also assist in funding Randi’s trips to Ukraine.) Weingarten sites the state of Massachusetts as a success story-ergo, more funding and “safe and welcoming schools” make Massachusetts great. I mean, where else would you find a first-grade transgender teacher who reportedly told kindergarteners, first and second graders that doctors “make a guess” about a newborn’s gender at birth and that sometimes that “guess” is “incorrect”? Oh yeah, I know. Massachusetts. Maybe also in California. Or Oregon. Or Washington State. Or D.C. Pick a coastal liberal city in any state here.
Weingarten goes on to blame school choice in Florida for their abysmal scores. She says “funding is important” and it does equate successful outcomes. Glad Randi brought that up, because at that juncture, MacCallum then shared the dismal numbers from highly-funded Newark, New Jersey. The narrative Weingarten was pushing was being turned on its rear-end as she jumped in to save face:
Martha, Martha, Sweetheart…”
Did she just say…?
Randi Weingarten: “Martha, Martha, Martha — sweetheart, sweetheart, listen to me.”
McCallum: “Please don’t call me sweetheart.”
Weingarten: “…My bad.”

My Bad?!
Imagine a man saying that or better yet a conservative man saying….. “Martha, Martha, Martha Sweetheart…”

This is not the first time MacCallum went toe-to-toe with Weingarten:
Weingarten rambled on and still had no concrete answers to any questions, shouting at Martha that “she agrees” whilst trying to refute MacCallum’s indictment of the atrocities of the public education system.
The things we spend 90% of our time on…I spend 90% of my time on literacy and critical thinking and problem solving and what we need to do the help every single child succeed and ultimately, that’s what we should be doing in public schools.”-Randi Weingarten
It’s what y’all SHOULD have been doing for years before the reading and math scores became so dismal, sweetheart.
Before deciding to keep children out of the classroom based on “the science”. Before teachers’ unions and educational bureaucracies decided to promote the narrative that they would all die if they walked into a classroom for almost two years while vacationing in Mexico and holding ProDevs, ZOOM conferences and book studies on LGBTQ+ and Critical Race Theory in the place of focusing on improving those reading and math scores during and after pandemic. Before the decision to incorporate potentially controversial topics and inappropriate subject matter into lesson plans without parental consent. This is not a failure on all of our parts, as Randi Weingarten said. This is a failure on THEM.
They failed to provide taxpayers quality education to the kids of America. If the 90 percent focus was on literacy and problem solving, they, have collectively failed. And, critical thinking? Is she for real? I would love for Ms. Weingarten to actually spend a few days at a junior high or a high school and tell me if she thinks her “90 percent of time spent on critical thinking” has actually produced rational, smart, well-adjusted young adults because, sadly, it hasn’t. They are changing their names and genders like the weather. They are failing academically and socially. And, let’s not discuss some of the teachers here and their classroom management and critical thinking skills because some of them need some work, too.
Rightly so, American families are pissed off.
We have to embrace everything that society throws at us.”-Randi Weingarten
We’ve embraced the suck that is the public education system for years, sweetheart. So, embrace this, Randi: you screwed our kids and now you’ve been called out on the carpet for story time. And no, you don’t need no drag queen to tell you that your outfits are terrible and really suck at your job, toots.

I no longer watch Fox News, but I appreciate Martha MacCallum and have seen her go rounds with Weingarten.
I think it was Mike Pompeo who once called Randi Weingarten the most dangerous person in America. It seemed to be an outlandish comment at first, but there’s merit in what he said. Through her leadership of the godawful AFT, she shut down schools during Covid when it wasn’t necessary (while parochial schools reopened quickly), impairing the educational futures of thousands of public school students. Now she wants to indoctrinate them.
Pompeo was absolutely spot on in his assessment of this awful woman,
