It took him long enough. But now, even Bernie Sanders is done with Platner after Jenny Racicot went public with Platner’s break-in and date rape of her.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Tuesday said he told Democrat Graham Platner to withdraw from the race for Maine Senate in the wake of a report alleging Platner sexually assaulted a woman he was dating in 2021.

“I have spoken with Graham Platner about the best path forward for Maine,” Sanders said in a brief statement. “In light of these very serious allegations, I have recommended that he step aside.”

The Democrat brand is totally on point here. Bernie Sanders has been all in on Graham Platner because the nepo baby oysterman checked all the progressive socialist communist boxes that Bernie loves so much. 

Bernie wasn’t fazed by the Nazi SS Totenkopf tattoo. He didn’t bat an eye about Planter’s tall tales of his time in the military or his slams against fellow soldiers or Chris Kyle. Creepy Reddit and Kik posts about women? No big deal. Lyndsey Fifield coming forth? Don’t believe her because Republican and reasons. 

But now that it is a Democrat who was willing to set aside her traumatic experience long enough to vote for Platner, but finally couldn’t, Bernie believes HER and is calling for Platner to abandon ship. 

Senator John Fetterman isn’t having any of Bernie’s new tap dance. 

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is demanding an apology from Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., as explosive new sexual assault allegations have rocked Democratic Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner’s campaign.

“I would really call Bernie Sanders to apologize for pushing this kind of predator more than anyone,” Fetterman said Monday on “The Ingraham Angle.”

“He helped him [become the Democratic nominee], and now [he should] apologize to the victims, especially the woman that she claimed that he raped her. I don’t know why you want to keep pushing these kinds of people.”

Again, this is terribly on brand for the Democrats. Republicans would be tarred and feathered and rode out of town on a rail in a hot second. But the Democrats circle the wagons until the cows come home. 

They’ll only drop kick a candidate to the curb when it becomes clear that person is no longer useful to them.

Since Politico published Jenny’s account yesterday, the Democrats have been fully engaged in “RUN AWAY!” mode.

Which is comical if it weren’t for the fact that Graham Platner was fully vetted by the same people who vetted and are working with Mamdani, and they went ahead with him anyway. Furthermore, as Lyndsey makes clear on X, the New York Times KNEW all of this and instead published a hit piece on her.

It wasn’t that the NY Times “couldn’t corroborate” what Lyndsey and Jenny told them. It was that they …. didn’t want to.

It’s *actual felonies.*

And coming from someone who repeatedly warned Republicans about this slope — so much so that she retired in 2016 — you should realize that you’ve now crossed a Rubicon. All of that stuff about objecting to Trump, *rightfully,* on the grounds that he had no moral character, is accused of impropriety, etc. — that’s all bullshit now. You’re sunk.

And let’s add in all the people I’ve seen since yesterday throwing the “but Kavanaugh!” as reasons why Platner should be protected. 

Let’s be clear here. Jenny, Lyndsey, and at least one other woman have provided dates, times, details, therapist documentation, addresses, and witnesses. To this day, Christine Blasey Ford has provided NONE of that. 

But now, since it’s a Democrat who is leveling credible accusations against Platner over events that took place only FIVE years ago, we are allowed to believe those women. 

I will say that Jake went very very close to the edge of the ‘are you sure your skirt wasn’t too tight?’ line of questioning. 

Here’s the thing, Jenny Racicot didn’t have to go public. She will now be forever known as the woman who helped tank Platner’s campaign. She’s being attacked for not reporting the date rape when it happened. Not one of those people attacking her are even attempting to put themselves in her shoes. 

She watched while Democrats nonchalantly waved off Planter’s other incredibly creepy actions about and towards women. He was their golden boy. 

I think she stayed silent for a multitude of reasons that, unless we are directly in her shoes, none of us will ever understand. 

What IS clear is that Graham Platner is absolutely done politically. His goose is cooked. Now that even Bernie is bailing on Herr Totenkopf, the writing is on the wall. His campaign is unequivocally done.
