When one door gets unceremoniously and sanctimonously closed in your face, another one will open. Gina Carano is going through the next open door.

The now-former actress from the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian” was fired earlier this week for making a Holocaust analogy on Instagram. There was nothing “fireable” about her analogy, which can be seen here. Still, it was all the pretext that Disney and Lucasfilm needed to do what has been rumored that they have wanted to do for a while – fire her.

Of course, the double standard and holier-than-thou preening by Disney is disgusting, especially considering that the star of “The Mandalorian,” Pedro Pascal, made a Holocaust analogy on Twitter back in 2018. Oh, but he is a good Hollywood leftist, so THAT kind of invocation of the Holocaust to incorrectly slam President Trump was just fine by Disney. James Gunn, director of the Marvel “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies, was fired by Disney over old Twitter posts joking about rape and pedophilia back in 2018. He was then rehired by Disney because his cast, and his Hollywood friends, stood up for him and he was SORRY.

And that doesn’t even get into the entire “thank you to Xinjiang,” home of Uyghur concentration camps, that Disney put in the credits at the end of their live-action flop, “Mulan“.

As long as Disney caters to China's human rights abuses and literal concentration camps for $$$, pretty much any excuse they use to fire an actor over offensive social media posts is beyond ridiculous. It's that simple.

But here we are. Gina Carano, whose character arc was pretty amazing with such comparatively little screen time, will no longer be in the show. Her talent agency dropped her as well, so that should be the end of her Hollywood career, right?

The Daily Wire had announced their entry into the world of entertainment earlier this year with the premiere of their first full-length movie “Run Hide Fight” last month. In predictable fashion, the movie was given decent reviews at the Venice Film Festival, but once The Daily Wire became its distributor, the critics savaged it – even though audiences liked it.

Ben Shapiro had a LOT to say about what Disney did to Gina Carano yesterday.

So of course, picking up Gina Carano was a no-brainer for a fledgling entertainment brand.

Carano and The Daily Wire announced the new partnership on Friday, two days after the actress was ousted from her role in the Disney Star Wars spinoff show “The Mandalorian.” Disney cut the actress on Wednesday in what critics alleged was a politically-motivated hit.”

“The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered,” Carano said in a statement Friday. “I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”

Can you really be canceled if you refuse to participate in your own cancellation?

“We could not be more excited to be working with Gina Carano, an incredible talent dumped by Disney and Lucasfilm for offending the authoritarian Hollywood Left. This is what Daily Wire exists to do: provide an alternative not just for consumers, but for creators who refuse to bow to the mob,” said (Ben) Shapiro. “We’re eager to bring Gina’s talent to Americans who love her, and we’re just as eager to show Hollywood that if they want to keep cancelling those who think differently, they’ll just be helping us build the X-wing to take down their Death Star.”

This is the beginning of how cancel culture stops. First, never bend to the mob. Second, those who are not crazy must be willing to step up and defend free thought and free speech. Finally, we cannot reward those who do the cancelling. Will Disney be really hurt if you drop your subscription? Maybe not, but you aren’t giving them your money. And money is what talks here. We know that subscription services for the news we wish to support is going to be the way that sites like The Daily Wire survive this current atmosphere. And with them entering the world of entertainment, it just got a whole lot easier to reject Hollywood’s offerings.

Congratulations to Gina Carano for standing up and striking back at the empire that wanted her out.
