Free speech is our country’s foundational bedrock. We fought, and won, a bloody war over it. And our right to self defense, enshrined in the Second Amendment, protects that birthright, as well as every other enumerated in our Bill of Rights. And the same folks whose tyranny we cast off all those centuries ago are playing the same game today. A dangerous game that’s costing U.K. citizens their freedom. And sometimes their lives.

Meet activist-slash-journalist, Tommy Robinson. Here’s a brief synopsis of who he is and his current predicament:

U.K. right-wing activist and journalist Tommy Robinson was arrested and reportedly jailed Friday after he filmed members of an alleged child grooming gang entering a court for trial — but the details of his purported sentence remain murky after the judge ordered the press not to report on the case.

Robinson, the former head of the English Defense League and a longtime activist against Islam and Islamic migration, was arrested after he was filming men accused of being part of a gang that groomed children. Britain has been rocked by a series of child sex scandals perpetuated by gangs of predominantly Muslim men.

Video shows Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Lennon, being surrounded by as many as seven police officers as he livestreamed the incident on his phone. The police informed him he was being arrested for “breach of the peace.”

He looks dangerous and frenzied, doesn’t he? If I were a betting gal, I’d say the LEOs were making crap up in order to arrest him.

But some reports say there’s more to the story:

According to The Independent, Robinson was already on a suspended sentence for contempt of court over a gang rape case in 2017.

The judge in the case on Friday slapped a reporting ban on the case. The order bans reporters from reporting on a case if there is reason to believe the reporting could prejudice a trial. The order prevents reporting until the conclusion of the trial Robinson was reporting on.

The gag order led to news outlets in the U.K. removing their reporting from their websites to comply with the order.

Now just imagine if reporters here couldn’t discuss certain court cases—by court order, for fear of tainting the case—and were threatened with arrest if they did so. Would that pass constitutional muster?

Meanwhile, over the weekend a petition via Chang.org began making the social media rounds seeking signatures on Robinson’s behalf. While he was reportedly jailed for illegally filming outside a trial—the same thing journalists do here in America every day—his real offense seems to be daring to report on a pedophile ring, the suspects of which are predominately Muslim.

Because don’t you dare think that the influx of radical Islamists and the slow-bleeding, self-inflicted, eventually fatal wound that is politically correct “multiculturalism” is the problem. Nope. It’s most definitely knives. And independent reporters.

Quick, someone summons King David Hogg to help eradicate knives from the U.K. Since he’s hell-bent on giving away the rights that so many have fought and died to preserve in this country, we may as well loan him out to Britain to help pave the way for Sharia Law there. There’s a lesson here, even if you believe that Robinson broke U.K. law, anti-free press as it is: free speech is a fundamental American right. And the ugliest of speech is the most in need of protection, and that includes the ugly truths of Radical Islam. Our own natural right to free speech in this country is experiencing a full frontal assault. And not by President Trump, as some would have us believe, but by the extremist left, and far too many on the right going along to get along. And should they win this battle by first eradicating the Second Amendment, we can say goodbye to every other right we enjoy, and say hello to the same cultural suicide the U.K. is embracing; it’s an insanity that’s seeing British citizens suspiciously beaten or dying in prison, there for arbitrary, and harmless, “hate crimes,” mind you:

It’s up to you, America: it’s either slavery veiled as feel-good political correctness, or dangerous freedom. So choose wisely. Because the wrong choice will doom our Republic to the same fate as the U.K. and those they’re rounding up on the alter of political correctness and appeasement of Radical Islam. For, as we can see from what’s occurring in Britain, once you give up your rights, there’s no getting them back. And that’s exactly what the Left wants.
