Elon Musk Says We Need Oil And Gas Production

Your eyes do not deceive you. Tesla founder and owner Elon Musk is saying we need MORE oil and gas production, and we need it NOW.

This is a wild and yet rational statement for Elon Musk to make. Wild because he does benefit from the investment in alternative energy with the sale of every Tesla. Battery-run cars are the epitome of what the hard left wants for the future – if the poors could just stop being poor, and go buy a Tesla or some other “green” car like they’ve been told to do.

And yet Elon Musk is not stupid. You don’t become a billionaire by denying reality. And the reality is that we are still dependent on oil and gas, and if we truly want to make Russia hurt, we HAVE to stop giving them money for their oil and START producing our own again. Could someone show Musk’s tweet to Jen Psaki? She keeps insisting that the only way to bring down energy prices is to… spend more on “clean energy.” When pressed on domestic oil production, Psaki was more than happy to redirect blame back to the oil companies instead of considering the current energy policy as a problem.

Q Do you think that opening the Keystone Pipeline and having more energy-friendly policies might do that?”

MS. PSAKI: The Keystone Pipeline has never been operational. It would take years for that to have any impact. I know a number of members of Congress have suggested that, but that is a proposed solution that has no relationship or would have no impact on what the problem is we, here, all agree is an issue.”

Q So during that — those years where it would, you know, take to bring down prices, as you’re saying, we should just continue to buy Russian oil?”

MS. PSAKI: Well, again, Jacqui, I think you’re familiar with a number of steps we’ve taken: a historic release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.”

Q But that didn’t bring down prices — last time or this time.”

MS. PSAKI: Well, we can — well, let me finish. What we can do over time and what this is a rema- — reminder of, in the President’s view, is our need to reduce our reliance on oil.”

The Europeans need to do that; we need to do that. If we do more to invest in clean energy, more to invest in other sources of energy, that’s exactly what we can do to prevent this from happening in the future.”

Oh yes, the Europeans. Yes, speaking of them, they are seeing their energy costs go through the roof as they realize the extent of their dependence on Russian oil and gas. So much so that the Germans are coming to grips with their own energy shortfalls.

Greta Thunberg hardest hit. After all, she has spent years of her young life trying to scold countries around the world about how they were destroying her childhood. Now Europe is paying through the nose for energy, and all because they wanted to placate a snotty and arrogant Swedish teenager and her green grift. It’s amazing how Greta Thunberg’s opinion becomes massively irrelevant when Russia shells a nuclear power plant and gas prices worldwide skyrocket.

I would sent Greta Thunberg to yell at Vladimir Putin, but she isn’t that foolish. And that’s the entire point. We need more energy to make the modern world work than the “green” sources can currently provide, especially because the West has gotten squeamish about nuclear power as a “clean” alternative. And so we get back to the point Elon Musk was making. We need energy, and we need it now, and that means ramping up oil and gas production.

Unfortunately, the Biden administration still has its head firmly up its ass on this point. They don’t dare cross the hard left on their “climate change” goals, but maaaaaaaybe they’ll cut off Russia. Maybe. You know, later. And the only reason they are even considering such an option is because Congress might force their hand, and they don’t want the bad optics.

The Biden administration is weighing a ban on U.S. imports of Russian crude oil as Congress races toward passing such a restriction to punish the Kremlin for its invasion of Ukraine.”

Conversations are taking place within the administration and with the U.S. oil and gas industry on the impact such a move would have on American consumers and the global supply, according to people familiar with the matter.”

Earlier this week, the White House publicly rebuffed suggestions from lawmakers that the U.S. ban Russian oil. But pressure has grown for a ban along with American outrage over Russia’s invasion, and lawmakers have made clear they will act.”

“We are looking at options that we can take right now, if we were to cut the U.S. consumption of Russian energy — but what’s really most important is that we maintain a steady supply of global energy,” Cecilia Rouse, the chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, told reporters at a briefing.”

There’s only so many times the Biden administration can “tap” the Strategic Petroleum Reserve until those reserves are spent. Which brings us back to the point Elon Musk was making. We need domestic oil and gas production brought back, and anyone who isn’t seriously discussing that isn’t being realistic about the situation. The United States WAS energy independent until Joe Biden took office, and then he undid so much of what had kept our gas and energy prices low. Democrats want to cast blame everywhere else and claim that we are energy independent, but if we were, why would the Biden administration be tapping into the Strategic Petroleum Reserves while the prices at the pump skyrocket?

Something is going to give, and whether it’s Biden’s poll numbers or gas prices remains to be seen. Perhaps Elon Musk should tweet directly at the White House.

No, Duh !!!! Just about everyone knows this…well, except for Foggy Joe. It is a genuine mystery as to why he is dragging his heels on restoring America’s energy independence. Why, pray tell, should we buy from Russia that which we can produce here.No one can now say that the old guy in the White House is pro-America.

Anyone that lived through the Texas 2021 ice storm knows we cannot depend on “clean energy”. We need to expand and support our oil and gas production!

Further, let us not forget that all these alternative energy devices are largely made of plastic, which is in turn made from oil.
Looked at a Tesla car body? That’s not steel.
Most of the chemicals we need are also derived from oil. This includes fertilizers.
This whole scheme is madness, and the stupid is burning….
