The real stunner isn’t that the Academy of Motion Pictures kicked out Bill Cosby after his conviction. It’s that they kicked out Roman Polanski at the same time.
JUST IN: Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors votes to expel Bill Cosby and Roman Polanski.

Yes, it only took the Academy 40 years to decide to do something about Roman Polanski. Talk about the wheels of justice moving – they barely budged for decades!
Polanski was convicted in 1978 of raping a child he had drugged. He's been a fugitive from justice for 40 years. Over that period of time, the Academy Awards nominated him three separate times for awards (he won in 2003). Way to take a stand, Hollywood. https://t.co/gA2KddbTKZ

So, why now? There is lots of speculation.
NOW they expel Polanski?
Why? Because they didn't want to look racist for only expelling Cosby?
Polanski should have been expelled decades ago. https://t.co/Jjg3DKgiIn

Both were equally deserving of removal, but remember that Polanski got a lot of awards and accolades and apologists along the way.
And yes, Polanski’s victim is saying that this is “ugly and cruel” – but it’s hard to tell if the part she objects to is his expulsion, or the timing of kicking him out along with Cosby.
“It is an ugly and cruel action which serves only appearance,” said Geimer, who is now 55 and a grandmother living in Hawaii. “It does nothing to change the sexist culture in Hollywood today and simply proves that they will eat their own to survive. I say to Roman, good riddance to bad rubbish, the Academy has no true honor, it’s all just P.R.”
Geimer is skeptical, too, of the Academy’s motives, and of its decision to expel Cosby and Polanski concurrently. “They could at least expel him on his own, but to tag him onto Cosby, what a bunch of douchebags,” she said.
People can obviously question the timing, but let’s remember that Roman Polanski PLED GUILTY to having sex with a 13 year old and THEN fled the country. His crime has been well-documented and Hollywood gave him a pass for 40 years. So yes, the timing is strange, but the consequence is trivial – considering that Polanski is a fugitive from the law and should have been in jail 40 years ago.
#MeToo? More like ABOUT TIME.
Not to worry. NOTHING will happen. Polanski will continue the high life in Europe, enjoy the admiration of the Dems/Prog apologists in Hollywood and lust after the early teen girls he clearly prefers.
