Since he is awaiting court-martial for desertion, should Bowe Bergdahl actually, you know… be in the stockade or something?
It must be nice to be just sitting around, waiting for trial by court-martial. You still get vacation time and can go with friends for a field trip to a pot farm.
Captain Greg Van Patten with the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News Thursday that the county’s marijuana eradication team encountered Bergdahl on Tuesday while serving a search warrant on a home in Redwood City, Calif.
Van Patten said Bergdahl was detained, but ultimately was “determined not to be connected to the operation, at least there was no evidence to suggest he was involved.”
When Bergdahl encountered the law enforcement team, Van Patten said he identified himself while the sheriff’s office reached out to the Department of Defense. The agency confirmed Bergdahl was on leave, and asked for their assistance in getting him back.
Sheriff’s office personnel later drove Bergdahl “to a halfway point,” where he met up with army representatives.
Bergdahl is nominally stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. That must have been one interesting drive to the halfway point.
And here are two very good questions:
@JenGriffinFNC Why is he not in a military jail?

Let’s leave out that Bergdahl has friends that are connected to an illegal marijuana farm in California. Why on earth is someone who is due to be prosecuted FOR DESERTION being allowed leave??? Does no one at Fort Sam Houston see an inherent disconnect here?
@JenGriffinFNC And why is a man charged with desertion given a pass to go off base? Are they inviting him to run?

I’m betting that after this little embarrassment, the Pentagon (who was contacted initially by the sheriff’s department) makes sure that Bergdahl doesn’t get any more paid vacation time. This idiot has proved, time and again, that he is an untrustworthy headache at best. Time to make sure that he is grounded, so we can find him when his court-martial finally begins.
He shouldn’t be in the stockade, he should already be under it.
And, yes, why is he being allowed leave when he is under investigation of desertion?
This is what happens when treason no longer gets you executed. But then again, with all the treason coming from his “commander in chief” it’s a miracle this stupid punk hasn’t been named Secretary of Defense already.
Nailed it. ^^
