Ann Dorn, widow of retired Police Chief David Dorn – who was viciously murdered in St. Louis on June 2nd – issued a powerful message to the looters and thugs across this country.
Healing will only happen if the chaos stops.
Her strength is amazing. Just two months after her husband was viciously murdered she appears on national TV with a message we ALL need to hear.
"David is never coming back. He was murdered by people who didn’t know, and didn’t care, that he would have done anything to help them.

Violence and destruction are not legitimate forms of protest. They do not safeguard black lives. They only destroy them."
The story of David Dorn is one of service and one of friendship.
“David Dorn retired from the St. Louis Police Department in 2007 after 38 years on the job. He rose from rookie patrol officer in 1969 to captain. He was the deputy commander of the Bureau of Patrol Support, which oversees traffic and mounted patrols, commercial vehicles and the tactical unit.”
Helping out a life-long friend led him into danger on June 2, 2020.
“”A retired St. Louis police captain and municipal chief was shot to death by looters at a St. Louis pawn shop early Tuesday, and his killing apparently was broadcast on Facebook Live.
David Dorn, 77, was shot in the torso about 2:30 a.m. He died on the sidewalk in front of the shop, Lee’s Pawn & Jewelry, at 4123 Martin Luther King Drive.””
He was killed on a night that saw violence and destruction across several portions of the city in response to George Floyd’s death. Horrifically, his murder was filmed live on Facebook and one of his grandsons saw it, not realizing he was watching his grandfather being murdered.
Thankfully, justice will be served, as those responsible for David Dorn’s death have been apprehended.
“A 24-year-old man was charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a retired St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department captain who was killed while protecting a friend’s pawn shop from looters last week, authorities said Sunday.
Stephan Cannon of St. Louis faces one count of first-degree murder, one count of first-degree burglary, one count of unlawful possession of a firearm, and two counts of armed criminal action in connection with retired captain David Dorn’s death. He is being held without bond, according to St. Louis police.”
It is Ann Dorn’s message tonight that resonates and should be heeded.
To those who would destroy, to those who think chaos is the answer, and to the Democrats who say NOTHING about the violence tearing this country apart, but demand our police be defunded… POUND SAND.
"but we cannot heal amid devastation and chaos. President Trump knows we need more Davids in our communities, not fewer.
— Mollie (@MZHemingway) August 28, 2020
We need to come together in Peace and remember that every life is precious."
Every life is indeed precious. Our Republic is precious, and ALL of it must be safeguarded. Violence and destruction, if not stopped, will only breed more violence and destruction, and this Republic that we hold dear will suffer.
Ann Dorn is correct. Violence and destruction solve nothing and, in fact, create more problems. The chaos needs to stop before more good men like David Dorn are injured or killed.

“Thankfully, justice will be served, as those responsible for David Dorn’s death have been apprehended.”… We can surely hope, but sadly, it’s not a given…
RIP Chief Dorn, and Bravo Mrs. Dorn for your bravery under such circumstances.
