As if this week’s news cycle wasn’t enough of a raging dumpster fire, the media just spent three hours in a massive freakout about Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. He’s gonna resign! He’s gonna get FIRED!
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the official in charge of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, has verbally resigned to White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, according to one person familiar with the matter.
The resignation was delivered to Kelly late last week, but it’s unclear whether Rosenstein is planning to follow through with a formal resignation, the person said. A second person said that Rosenstein isn’t expected to be in the job after Monday.
What prompted all of this? Rosenstein is a SPY!
Memos written by Andrew McCabe when he was the acting FBI director say that Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein suggested he secretly record his talks with President Trump, and that Rosenstein discussed possibly trying to remove Trump from office, according to people familiar with the matter.
What exactly did Rosenstein say?
Andrew McCabe was suggesting that DOJ investigate the president, per @mattzap & @DevlinBarrett reporting. “What do you want to do, Andy, wire the president?” Rosenstein responded. https://t.co/WqXCof3QZ2

In other words, the media ran with a comment that was described as SARCASTIC. The headlines were written specifically as if Rosenstein was serious. One would have to read well into the story before figuring out that Rosenstein was kidding.
This sounds an awful lot like a mix of sarcasm and frustration rather than the picture the Times' second or third hand sources presented. https://t.co/KmbXSCzdjs

But the New York Times had the scoop!!
Huge scoop by @adamgoldmanNYT and @nytmike on Rod Rosenstein talking about secretly recording Trump and raising 25th amendment in the Comey firing aftermath https://t.co/IJTpHUpkP4
— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) September 21, 2018
A. Maggie Haberman’s credibility has been lacking for a long time now. B. NY Times story admits the info regarding 25th Amendment came to them SECONDHAND. In other words, hearsay.
The media ran wild for several hours this morning speculating as to whether Rosenstein resigned or was fired. The spin was so fast and crazy, it was enough to make one hurl. The problem with the resign or fire narrative is that it DID NOT come from the White House.
Can only surmise that someone at Rosenstein’s office spoke out of turn in hopes to adding another log onto the Trump is Mean! schtick. And the media bought it hook, line, and sinker.
Here’s the deal. First of all, the media and far too many in that swamp called DC hate Trump with an unparalleled passion. So much so they are far to willing to throw this Republic under the bus by any and all means necessary. To wit: a sarcastic comment from Rod Rosenstein becomes a story about how the Deep State really is out to get Trump.
They capitalized on knowing that Trump places a very high value on loyalty. If someone isn’t loyal? They are FIRED!
The usual suspects on Capital Hill clutched pearls BIGLY.
The Senate must step up to protect the Special Counsel immediately. We must pass the bipartisan bill to protect the Mueller investigation. The American people deserve answers about Russian interference in our democracy.

Schumer was equally concerned about his precious Trump Russia collusion narrative.
“This story must not be used as a pretext for the corrupt purpose of firing Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein in order install an official who will allow the president to interfere with the Special Counsel’s investigation,”
Andrew McCabe should keep his mouth shut.

The problem is, Rosenstein WASN’T fired and he DIDN’T resign!
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Rod Rosenstein has not resigned and is still serving as U.S. deputy attorney general, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters on Monday.
Rosenstein had a previously scheduled meeting at the White House at noon on Monday, according to a person familiar with the matter. He is still the deputy attorney general and he attending a “substantive meeting” in that capacity, the person said.
Well, I’ll be hornswoggled! You mean nothing the media reported about Rosenstein was true? They ran with Fake News?? That has never ever and I mean NEVER happened before guys. Never! *cue massive eye roll.
This is how crazy the media was this morning.

So, do you think they are gonna walk back their stories? Some are still beating the narrative.
This may be the strangest day yet at the Trump White House. Rod Rosenstein was summoned to the WH to meet with John Kelly this morning. He expected to be fired. He wasn't. And now Rosenstein is attending a previously scheduled cabinet-level meeting (filling in for Sessions)

The media wants Trump gone so badly that they along with many others salivated massively over just the mere thought of Rosenstein being fired.
Whomever ran to the New York Times with this 25th Amendment idiocy had a plan in mind. The events today are part of that plan.
Meanwhile the media still doesn’t have a clue as to why we don’t trust them.
